Our client is a charitable housing association with a long history of providing affordable housing in and around Cambridge.
It is an exciting time to join them as they have updated their governance structure. Their Board is supported by three committees: Audit & Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee and Customer Experience Group. In addition, the Finance Working Group and the Investment and Growth Working Group also support the Board.
This role provides the opportunity to not only sit on the Audit & Risk Committee, but also to play an integral part of their strategic planning. In this role, you will be part of the Board strategy days.
The Independent Committee Member role on the Audit & Risk Committee would be ideal for a senior finance professional within the social housing sector. You’ll be a qualified accountant with knowledge at a senior level of internal and external audit, strategic management of risk and financial reporting.
It is not essential that applicants have been a Committee Member of a housing organisation before, but applicants should have a commitment to customer service, a knowledge of what makes for good governance, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative experience alongside a good understanding of microsoft packages is essential. Charity/Not-For-Profit experience is desirable.

If you are able to help them, they’re looking for 15 hours per week, worked across 5 days, of your expertise where you’ll really add value. They are flexible around working hours, with start times ranging between 8am – 10am and finishing times between 11am – 1pm.
As a Scheme Manager, reporting to the Leasehold Service Manager you will:

Manage the scheme in an efficient and effective manner, ensuring that a safe, secure, well-kept and pleasant environment is maintained.

Oversee the welfare of their residents that will enable their residents to live independently; ultimately making a positive difference and improving lives and provide a calm and attentive response in the event of an emergency.

Take on the management of service delivery, with particular attention to housing management and maintenance issues.

To foster the development of a tight knit community spirit through the facilitation of regular social events and activities

To promote good communication between residents and their families, the Group and their approved service providers.
You will ideally possess a passion for working with their residents and will appreciate the importance of providing great customer service. An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Communications to join the team. As Head of Communications, you will lead the charity’s internal and external communications. From strategy development through to execution, you will be interacting with a wide range of audiences and stakeholders from policymakers to press and media. This is a part time (1.5 days a week), permanent role, home based within the UK with limited travel for meetings in the UK.
Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have experience of managing complex communications projects involving multiple stakeholders and achieving measurable results. You will be able to both develop and execute a marketing and communications strategy which has buy-in from stakeholders and have experience of developing project timelines and delivering against key milestone.
You will be able to demonstrate strategic understanding of the charity’s needs, inspire team members, and possess the gravitas to influence stakeholders to support your vision. You will be skilled at developing high quality and engaging communications across a variety of media, including web and social channels. Knowledge of SEO and web metrics would be a bonus however this is not essential for the role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable managing a communications budget and working with external agencies to support in the delivering of successful outcomes, whilst also being excited by the prospect of being hands-on and making a direct impact.
