About the role
As the Finance and Support Services Assistant (FSSA) you will support the Finance and Support Services Officer (FSSO) with Financial Management and office administration by facilitating financial transactions, generating transaction vouchers, maintaining accounting ledgers and cash books, managing office petty cash, processing payroll, general office administration/ logistics, procurement, maintenance of the office assets register, filing, handling workshops logistics as well as travel logistics for staff and visitors.
The FSSA key duties and accountabilities include:
- Timely preparation of payment vouchers and writing and dispatching cheques.
- Regularly maintain and update the excel cash book.
- Processing of vouchers in Sun system and availing them to FSSO for posting within 5 working days from the Transaction date and filing of the same.
- Managing the office petty cash, both local and foreign.
- Receipting cash and cheques from staff for private mileage, telephone and travel advance returns and subsequent banking within 24 hours.
- Handle regular payroll administrative issues such as ensuring payroll is delivered to the bank once prepared and the necessary statutory cheque payments delivered in a timely manner as required in the Income Tax Act & filing with respective authorities the annual PAYE & NSSA returns.
- Coordinate renewal of motor vehicle licences and insurances.
- Review of procurement of office stationery.
- Ensure effective maintenance and repair of furniture, fittings and other office equipment
- Ensuring accurate coding of project expenditures (restricted funding).
- Take part in the review of partner financial reports.
- Partner visits with FSSO to review their financial procedures.

As the successful candidate you will hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or any relevant qualification/certificate and have experience of working in a busy accounting department, ideally in an INGO environment.

Key responsibilities of the role:

- Provide support to older people to build personal and wider community resilience and live healthier and more connected lives in their own homes for as long as possible, thereby, reducing isolation, loneliness and increasing their independence.
- Provide support with available housing options, e.g., private rented, social housing, shared accommodation.
- Work with partners to obtaining aids and adaptations to assist individuals in remaining independent in their home and reducing the impact of frailty.
- Develop a working knowledge of the information resources and office systems, which support the advice service, using them effectively and contributing to their continuous improvement.
- Keep up to date on relevant changes in the law, policies, and procedures, both locally and nationally, as they apply to and affect older people and their carers.
- To provide and maintain statistical information and case records in line with data protection regulations.
- Contribute to the maintenance of local information systems.
- To work as part of a team with other advice staff and volunteers.
- To liaise with outside agencies including Social Services and Department for Works and Pensions on behalf of clients, and for the purpose of establishing close working links.

About the role
Sightsavers are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to support the "Futuremakers Ready for Inclusive Sustainable Employment and Entrepreneurship (RISE/E)" Project, and to manage activities and relationships with key stakeholders. The post holder will ensure that the project is planned, implemented, coordinated, monitored, evaluated, and adapted to the highest possible quality standards.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for delivering this innovative project in Uganda, as well as part of a country team, contributing to growth and expansion of the portfolio.
Key duties will include:
- Working with the country project management team and other funding / resources partners to coordinate implementation of activities and sharing of lessons learned.
- Coordinate all aspects of the project cycle with the partners including effective planning, start-up, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, financial and asset management, reporting, documentation, and closeout.
- Liaise and work with the Global Technical Leads (Disability Inclusive Economic Empowerment) and other internal expertise as required.

A prestigious London Local Authority with a large regional jurisdiction over both the City of London and the county of Greater London is looking for a number of 12-month front of house and administrative staff to join a busy and expanding team based in Stanford-Le-Hope/Tilbury/Corringham area.
Your new role
To provide clerical and administrative support to the staff in a busy and expanding office. To work as one of the team of Support Assistants within the Service, in the provision of an effective, efficient and responsive service.
Hours: 37 hours per week within the hours of 6am - 10pm on a shift basis
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out reception duties and act as 'first point of contact' for visitors to the office.
- Sorting, date stamping, scanning all documents received and distributing post and documents received into the office and verifying delivery of documents, parcels and other goods in accordance with office procedures.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the field staff, as required.
- Arrange the collection of all samples on a daily basis that need to go to the labs, preparing for collection and liaising with the couriers.
- Use office equipment, including the postage franking machine, facsimile machine, scanner, photocopier and computer system to carry out the duties of the post.
- Answer all incoming calls and respond to telephone queries from a wide range of sources regarding the current status of imported food cargo and charging procedures, including passing calls on to the relevant staff.
- Under the direction of the Officers, or Technical Officers, carry out documentary checking with regard to consignments of imported food (not of animal origin), and maintain all necessary electronic and paper-based records.
- Input data into internal and external database systems and carry out general internal database maintenance, e.g. modifying tables, queries and reports.
- Maintain and update electronic and paper-based filing and record systems, including the equipment inventory. Assist with the archiving of items, and deal with confidential documents appropriately.
- Under the direction of Official Veterinarians or Officers, record Products of Animal Origin and other imported food consignments on the computerised cargo handling system and port manifesting systems.
- Under the direction of Official Veterinarians or Officers, they undertake the initial documentary check for third country consignments of products of animal origin in accordance with ISO procedures and ensure that documents for charging purposes are sent to the Finance Section on a daily basis.

About the role
The purpose of the Project Driver/Office Assistant role is to provide logistical support to the Anyim Maber Project, by driving staff and visitors when required, to ensure maintenance and safety of the project vehicle, and to complete clerical duties so that the office is running efficiently.
Further duties for the Project Driver/Office Assistant role include;
Driving tasks
- Undertake driving assignments for Sightsavers staff, project visitors and consultants as required.
- Provide logistical support to the Nwoya PIU
- Drive Sightsavers staff and visitors for project visits in the programme areas as required.
- Keep the project vehicle in clean condition, properly maintained and fuelled at the designated service stations.
- Ensure that vehicle logbooks are properly maintained and compile summaries on vehicle movements and fuel utilisation as per monthly vehicle reporting form.

Administrative tasks
- Undertake courier or dispatch tasks and duties payment of bills, mail collection, delivery & distribution of letters.
- Receive and direct Uganda Country Office (UCO) visitors in absence of the Project Officer, providing information where needed.
- Respond to general requests to Project Implementation Unit (PIU).
- In liaison with Programme Coordinator, distribute send documents to Partners.
- Provide administrative support in filing, photocopying, and binding documents.
- Logistical support during field visits - play lead role, take photographs.
- Undertake logistics of programme workshops and meetings.
