Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum

Location: Penygraig, South Wales with some home working

Hours: Full-time

Digital marketing and fundraising are crucial parts of Valleys Kids Sustainability Strategy. The Digital Fundraising Officer will be an important member of the Fundraising team, who will create and implement a range of digital platforms to support the organisation in attracting new supporters, raising our profile and generating new income streams.

You’ll work closely with the Fundraising Manager and Business and Finance Director, liaising with our Community & Family Hub Teams to help maximise digital marketing campaigns. This will include maintaining website, creating digital marketing campaigns, setting up and managing local lottery, email marketing, press & media liaison and identifying and testing new digital opportunities.

This is an unexplored area within Valleys Kids, which provides an exciting opportunity for someone with the drive, skills and experience to shape this important strand of fundraising, future proofing our work supporting highly disadvantaged communities.

Duties and responsibilities

·Develop a strategic and integrated digital marketing fundraising programme, including website, email and diverse digital marketing channels with a focus on recruitment and retention of supporters.

·Work with Valleys Kids’ teams to create, plan, and implement a portfolio of digital fundraising projects and campaigns.

·Set-up, develop and maintain a dedicated Valleys Kids Charity Lottery

·Use analytics and testing strategies to help optimise the fundraising sections of the Valleys Kids’ website for conversions and SEO as well as a positive supporter experience.

·Assist in the development of a clear and strong supporter experience through all digital fundraising platforms, including sign up journeys, email campaigns and social media advertising.

·Create engaging and participative social media posts and experiences, increasing awareness of our work and reaching income generation targets, ensuring consistency in brand and messaging.

·Support day-to-day activity across all social media platforms, using initiative to respond to comments and private messages

·Contribute to and create content plans and support effective delivery by liaising with colleagues in the rest of the organisation.

·Undertake campaign evaluations, providing reports on digital fundraising performance, learnings, and recommendations to improve future performance.

·Work with colleagues to develop insights and understanding of the motivations, interests and performance of our supporters and their digital channel habits.

·Communicate with press and media to raise awareness of our work and increase profile of Valleys Kids

·Work with colleagues to ensure that all digital fundraising at Valleys Kids adheres to the Code of Fundraising Practice and our Privacy Policy and clearly reflects our aims, vision and values.

·Undertake any other duties as required by the Fundraising Manager, Director of Business and Finance and CEO.

·Excellent writing and language skills

·A creative approach to content and engagement online

·Skills in content creation, copywriting and social media design skills

·Relationship building - ability to engage proactively with supporters, monitor and address issues arising

·Highly organised approach to work and planning.

·Resourceful and able to work on own initiative

·Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals and resolve problems.

·Demonstrate communication and customer service skills in a digital environment.

·Ability to work outside of normal office hours to monitor social media activity. We work on a time off in lieu basis.


It is essential for you to have the following level of knowledge:

•Knowledge of social media tools, including scheduling, posting, reporting and analytics,

•Knowledge of image editing & Google Analytics.


•Ability to communicate in Welsh

•Adobe Photoshop Skills
