In 2021 we are launching a new project called Together Versus Arthritis. Together Versus Arthritis will pilot ways of helping Versus Arthritis to reach more people, create new local peer-support groups, bring in new local insight, raise awareness, fundraise, campaign and to network people we are engaged with together in local areas.

One of our 6 pilot sites across the UK is Haverfordwest and we are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual with strong networking skills, This new, exciting position is for someone who is self-motivated, has experience in volunteer support and a good understanding of Haverfordwest.

About the role

This is an 18month Fixed Term Contract

Travel: Frequent travel within Haverfordwest. Occasional travel to our offices in Chesterfield and London

The role sits within the England team but is a key part of a broader Together Versus Arthritis team, working with colleagues across the UK and all Directorates to make the project a success.

You will be responsible for building strong, positive relationships with people with arthritis, our existing volunteers, community and voluntary organisations and health and social care partners in the city. You will work closely with other teams to identify, recruit, train and support volunteers.

You will have the opportunity to develop and shape our work in Haverfordwest and play a key role in helping us to understand what works and doesn't work during the pilot phase. This vital information will help shape the future of our local delivery.

Key requirements

Our ideal candidate will be someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, can lead and motivate people and has:

· Significant experience of identifying, recruiting and supporting volunteers

· Experience of working collaboratively with external partners

· Proven experience in developing and managing relationships with diverse communities.

· Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to structure your days and manage competing priorities

· Motivation, with the ability to work on your own initiative and be adaptable to change
