Victim Support is looking for a Domestic Abuse Caseworker based in Bristol. This role is Home Based with travel around the area.
Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity for people affected by crime in England and Wales. We work towards a world where people affected by crime or traumatic events get the support they need and respect they deserve.
This role will provide support services across Bristol, predominantly to male victims of domestic abuse. The roleholder will:
Provide a high quality support service to victims of domestic violence and abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning and advocacy, emotional and practical support:
Work within a multi-agency framework and with local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse and:
Work with survivors and other agencies to co-ordinate their care pathway and ensure they remain safe and empowered.
To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children. You will understand safeguarding issues and the principles of risk assessment, including the use of Safelives/DASH risk and needs assessment. You will have experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people and multi
agency working. You will have excellent communication and crisis management skills and have good IT skills.
