Victim Support is looking for a full time Homicide Service Caseworker to join our North team covering the region of North Yorkshire, with some coverage of the surrounding areas. This is a home based role with regular travel; a full driving licence and access to a car will be essential.

The successful candidate will be joining our North team covering a large geographical area of the North of England and will be responsible for provide a high-quality, front-line service to bereaved people following Murder, Manslaughter or Infanticide, and deliver a premium service.
You will be expected to act as the named contact and manage a complex case-load while maintaining multi-agency links with Police Family Liaison Officers (FLOs) and other relevant organisations that can help to progress identified needs; you will ensure that bereaved people are central and integral to all processes that concern them.
You will need to have excellent communication skills (telephone, email and face to face meetings), an ability to build and sustain solid working relationships with various partners and most importantly build rapport with victims. The post requires Senior Caseworkers to visit victim's homes.
The ability to advocate and support victims through their recovery is a must, as well as managing the multi-faceted challenges you will experience on a day to day basis.
Applicants should have experience of working with vulnerable people. They should also be able to work under their own initiative and be able to prioritise work and conflicting demand/needs and interests, whilst keeping victims at the focus of all work undertaken.
You will be able to organise your diary to meet the needs of victims, whilst being able to respond to other tasks as they present.
You will be IT proficient (word, Outlook, Case Management systems) record keeping is an important aspect of the Case Worker role.
