Victim Support is looking for an Initial Response Officer based in our Bedworth, Warwickshire offices.

We are looking for a full time, 37.5 hour, Initial Response Officers who will make contact with victims of crime who live in Warwickshire.
You will be based at Bedworth Police Station. Police Vetting is a mandatory requirement for this post. While waiting for vetting to be completed you will temporarily be based at Leamington Justice Centre, so the ability to travel to Leamington Spa will also be required. Train/ travel costs to Leamington will provided if the distance is much further than travel to Bedworth.
The Initial Response Officer will work alongside the Harm Hub identifying vulnerable victims of crime. The main duty of this role is to make contact with those affected by crime throughout Warwickshire to assess victim's needs and commission a range of services to support these needs. We are looking for applicants who have the skills and the motivation to be part of our team and would thrive in a busy and varied working environment.
The successful candidate will be proficient in IT, be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form, have good telephone skills and an understanding of the impact of crime on individuals. You will be able to deal sensitively with challenging and emotionally charged situations, demonstrating empathy and control over your own emotions and a strong focus on customer service.
DBS check and Police Vetting are a requirement of this role
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm. You will occasionally be expected to work outside of these hours to meet the needs of clients or to attend events.
