Location East of England
Part-time

Job Description

An exciting opportunity to help support the development of a growing adult literacy charity.

Read Easy matches adults who want to improve their reading, with trained volunteers from the local community who can provide them with reading tuition on a one-to-one basis. One in 20 adults in the UK has never learned to read, but it is never too late to learn. Read Easy’s flexible, confidential, one-to-one approach has proved very effective in encouraging many people to come forward for support, enabling them to learn at their own pace, but often in a remarkably short time. In the process, Read Easy transforms lives in many other ways.

Read Easy works through local, volunteer-run groups, which are supported by and affiliated to Read Easy UK, a national registered charity based in Blockley, north Gloucestershire.  The organisation is rapidly expanding; it currently has twenty affiliated groups, the majority of which are based in the South West or Central England.

Read Easy UK is now looking for a Regional Adviser to work two days a week in eastern Central England -full list of areas covered available in the attached document. The aim of the role is to provide Read Easy’s volunteers with the support they need to set up new Read Easy groups and to provide a consistently high quality experience for all those they work with. Please note that this role involves regular travel to visit groups and occasional evening and weekend working.

The successful candidate will need to have at least two years’ relevant experience.  Please see job description for further details and complete an application form.

Salary:  pro rata, based on a full annual salary of £25,000

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
