Job Description

BRS is an independent registered charity working in partnership with individuals and agencies to improve the quality of life of refugees and asylum seekers, helping to reduce health inequalities, social exclusion and poverty and enabling integration. Our main objective is to assist refugees and asylum seekers to integrate and move towards independence.

We are seeking a Lead Refugee Adviser to lead and support the advice team within BRS to deliver an efficient, effective and informed holistic support service to refugees and asylum seekers who may be in crisis/distress and provide advice and guidance to staff on a range of client’s related issues.

You will have experience of supervising and supporting other advice workers (paid staff or volunteers), have substantial experience of providing advice managing own case load of complex cases i.e. in welfare benefits, housing, immigration and have an in-depth knowledge of refugees rights and entitlements.

You will also hold an OISC (level 1 or above) certificate.

With proven commitment to supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people to improve their own lives, you will also have a strong understanding of the issues faced by this particular client group.
