An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small team of staff at Swindon City of Sanctuary!
We are looking for the right candidate to manage and support the running of our much needed hosting project here in Swindon. This post is part time and for 16 hours a week.
Our 'Rooms for All' Hosting Project supports sanctuary seekers and vulnerable migrants who are destitute, about to become destitute or are vulnerably accommodated. We provide all-round support to our guests through a private bedroom in a volunteer host’s home, a bus pass if needed, a designated volunteer support worker and personalised move-on plans.
The post holder will be skilled at building relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders including vulnerable adults, referall agencies and volunteers from hosts who provide a free room to our support workers. You will be able to represent Swindon City of Sanctuary positively and will enjoy working as part of a very small and dynamic team but will need to be a confident decision maker and able to run Room for All on a day to day basis. The post holder will need to be a good administrator: to maintain accurate records and dealing with any concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
Swindon City of Sanctuary is a registered charity which began with a small team of volunteers in 2016. We now employ two part time staff, have a dedicated and pasionate board of trustees and run projects which help foster a culture of welcome, inclusion and support for everyone in Swindon, with a focus on those seeking sanctuary.
We are part of the national City of Sanctuary network and also members of NACCOM the national hosting network.
To find out more please read the attached Job description and Person Specification and click 'Apply now' to send us your CV along with your covering letter by the closing date which is 1pm on the 26th April 2019.
We look forward to hearing from you!
