Research, Policy and Communications Team
The aim of the Research, Policy and Communications Team is to influence the housing and homelessness sector to ensure stays in unsupported temporary accommodation (UTA) are as short, safe and healthy as possible.
Since 2013 Justlife has carried out research and produced reports ranging from a review of the effects on the health and wellbeing of people placed in UTA, recommendations of solutions to the challenges faced by local authorities, landlords and support services, and mapping the provision of UTA across England.
The research, policy and communications work build on local frontline services in Brighton and Manchester that support adults experiencing housing vulnerability, many of whom face complex and multiple disadvantage. It uses learning from the services and from the wider research that it carries out to influence policy and systems change for residents of UTA on a local and national level, as well as within the Justlife services.
The role will build on our communications strategy and drive improvement in our ability to tell our story through promoting the work of Justlife, with the aim of building brand awareness and increasing fundraising, as well as highlighting the issues and solutions we develop locally and nationally. The role will include some travel between Justlife’s two projects based in Brighton & Manchester.
