Do you have a knack for systems and technology? Are you a people person and motivated to help others? Are you calm under pressure?
Support Through Court is an independent charity which provides much-needed practical and emotional support to people dealing with the court process without the benefit of legal representation. Most are frightened of and unfamiliar with the courts and may be facing serious issues that could affect their children and relationships, finances, or the roof over their head.
We are starting a new, two year project piloting a virtual support initiative for those seeking help with divorce and/or child arrangements but do not have legal representation. Clients will virtually receive practical support from Support Through Court volunteers based at offices across the UK, and legal advice through our partnership with RCJ Advice.
The post will be for two years. We are looking to recruit someone based in central London, however as volunteers will be based at Support Through Court offices around the UK, some travel will be required. The post holder will report to the Head of Systems & Information and will be part of the Systems & Information team. The primary focus of the post will be our new virtual support project with regards to:
- Ensuring continuous and smooth running of the hardware and IT systems.
- Providing face-to-face and remote support to volunteers and clients using the systems
- Pulling statistical information needed for reporting
Additionally, the post will assist the Systems & Information team with BAU activities and provide general IT support to staff and volunteers across the wider organisation.
The ideal candidate will have: excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills, the ability to patiently explain technical solutions to a wide range of audiences, efficient administrative skills, empathy for our clients, a willingness to learn, and the flexibility to follow directions or take the initiative as needed.
If this sounds like you, we look forward to receiving your application: please send a CV, together with a covering letter clearly explaining how you fulfil the criteria in the job specification and the requirements for the role.
Applications are due by 9:00 AM on 5 October 2020.
Interviews will take place on 8 October 2020.
