London, Greater London
£32,000 per year
Contract, 12 months, Full-time
Job description

We are working with South London & Maudsley Mental Health NHS Trust (SLaM) to help support implementation of a new community mental health model to reduce the health inequalities for Black communities in Southwark. The Community Development Worker will bring a different approach and an understanding of the needs, gaps and opportunities to build partnerships with local communities. This will be pivotal in helping people from Black communities to access community based mental health support instead of coming to mental health services via crisis, inpatient or the police.

Do you have the ability to connect with people from Black communities who may be experiencing life challenges and have mental health support needs? The Community Development Worker will be responsible for establishing links with existing community organisations and networks. You will have strong skills to build an understanding of local needs and opportunities to improve mental health services, and work with community mental health services to influence planning.
