The role will entail:
Overseeing and developing the vision for the children’s ministry at Thrive Church, which
Coordinating and helping lead (with volunteers) the weekly Sunday morning youth
expression of Church (school years 7-11), while encouraging young people to play
an active part in serving the Church service.
Growing a team to support young people pastorally.
Lead and develop a midweek gathering in which all 11-16’s are welcome.
Take an active role in churches together youth events, looking at ways of
developing relationships with other local Churches.
Developing a team that can lead and support the 16 to 25 age range.
Encouraging them to meet and grow in faith together.
Developing good relationships with local schools and colleges.
Encouraging young people to take an active role in social responsibilities locally
and across the world.
Being active in helping young people discover more of God.
Overseeing and helping lead (with volunteers) the weekly Sunday morning
children’s groups. while encouraging children to play an active part in serving the
Church service. These currently include Thrive Kids (school years 3 to 6) and
Thrive Tots (0-3).
Supporting the Little Thrivers (Mid-week toddler group) team.
Leading and developing a children’s midweek gathering for children and families.
This could be in partnership with Little Thrivers.
Helping create a strategy for supporting parents in the development of their
OTHER Responsibilities will include:
Sharing in the values of Thrive Church UK.
Recording and reporting any safeguarding concerns appropriately.
Ensuring that your activities, teams, and young people are safe. Working in
accordance with Policies and risk assessments of Thrive Church UK.
Growing and Leading teams in the Youth and Children’s work of Thrive Church UK.
Holding regular in-person meetings with your teams.
Report back regularly to your line manager and/or the leadership team.
Scheduling specific events related to young people and children.
Attending any training or meetings as required.
Being flexible in supporting the needs and vision of Thrive Church UK, particularly in relation to Youth and Children.
