Job description

Village of Forgiveness, known as The Village, is a charity registered in England and Wales (1186107), aimed at reaching the world’s most vulnerable people and integrating them back in community in long term sustainable ways. We currently have projects in Lesotho and the West Bank, Palestine. We are currently launching our first U.K. based project in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham, in partnership with Solihull Moors Football Club Foundation. 

We are seeking a dynamic, imaginative self-starter with managerial and fundraising experience to spear head our newest project. The project will support excluded people in the Chelmsley Wood area. This project manager role will be responsible for establishing the programme, building relationships with local partners and funders, recruiting beneficiaries and managing the day to day of the project. They will be based at the Solihull Moors Football Club and reporting to The Village CEO. This role will allow for independence and requires someone for whom the idea of starting a new charitable project is exciting.

Deliverables 

Phase 1

  • Set up the project following the already established The Village model 
  • Establish a project advisory board with The Village CEO
  • Establish a location 
  • Identify beneficiary group
  • Establish relationships with council, local MP, local charities, training colleges and funders
  • Establish governance and safeguarding process
  • Manage the build of project HQ 
  • Outlining the programme of delivering support, including budgets
  • Establish back office (IT & and Finance) within Solihull Moors Football Club

Phase 2 

  • Hire of staff required to deliver the project(s)
  • Recruiting beneficiaries 
  • Day to day management of the project(s)
  • Weekly reporting to The Village HQ
  • Establishing impact measurements 
  • Local Fundraising 
  • Coordination with Solihull Moors Football Club 
  • Managing local relationship with partners 
  • Managing the staff 
  • Longterm strategy with The Village seniors management 
  • Establish volunteer programme 
  • Run events to support the project and raise awareness 

Required 

  • Previous management 
  • Previous work in charity preferable
  • IT literate 
  • Basic knowledge of finance knowledge 
  • Driving license and right to work in the UK
  • Strong roots to the area and understanding of local culture
  • Self starter and comfortable working alone
  • Imaginative and creative
