Job Description

Community and Challenges Fundraiser.

This is a part-time, one day a week position, working from home. There is a basic salary of £5,600 with a bonus up to £1,600, giving a basic FTE of £28,000 with potential to £36,000 FTE.

This is an exciting time for Vision Care for Homeless People. Our Trustees have launched a new strategy, and we are aiming for rapid expansion over the next five years. We opened two new clinics in Leeds and Exeter in 2017 and this year we launched our London domiciliary service.

There is a need for at least 20,000 eye tests a year amongst homeless people in England. We currently meet 9% of that need, but aim to be reaching 40% in five years. Starting with our existing nine clinics in city centres, we will be opening new ones across England. Alongside a growth strategy, we have a new fundraising strategy which includes development of new fundraising channels.

To move our plans forward, we are recruiting to two part-time one day a week posts:

• Community and Challenges Fundraiser

• Grants Fundraiser

Our Community and Challenges Fundraiser is a new position. You will recruit and support individuals and groups to do sponsored challenges. You will also convert general supporters into donors. You will encourage and support our branch lead teams as they develop local fundraising.

We are looking for a fundraiser with ability to inspire, motivate and support a variety of volunteer fundraising efforts. You will need the ability to persuade individuals and groups to support the charity financially.

An ability to impress and persuade individuals in person and writing will be important.

You may travel occasionally to meet with branch lead teams, which are currently in London, Brighton, Birmingham, Manchester, Exeter and Leeds or other supporters.

Please apply on CharityJob and we will send you an application pack and job description. Once you have the pack, you will need to email your full application to us by 9.00am on Friday 31st August. Your full application will need to include both your CV and an application statement, the position you are applying for and 2 referees who we will contact only after job offer.

The application pack may also be found on our website.

Interviews will be in London on Monday 24th September. Our preferred start date would as soon as possible after
