Job description

VIY Project Manager

About Volunteer It Yourself (VIY)

VIY combines volunteering and DIY by challenging young people aged 14-24 to learn trade and building skills on the job, by helping to refurbish and transform youth and community facilities in need of essential improvements.  Young people are mentored by professional tradespeople and gain vocational accreditations as well as access to further training, work placement and apprenticeship opportunities.

To date over 600 youth and community buildings across England and Wales have been repaired/refurbished, involving 12000 young people, 1100 trade skills mentors, with 4500 young people gaining a City & Guilds accreditation.

VIY has recently been funded through the Community Renewal Fund to deliver multiple local community projects in partnership with three local authorities.  Between now and July 2022, the projects will help over 1000 young people learn and apply vocational construction skills whilst breathing life back into buildings at the heart of communities in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Norfolk.

To deliver this programme, we are now looking for driven and ambitious Project Managers to join our team at this exciting stage.
