About The Role
Rare opportunity to join the Senior Management Team of an award winning charity with a unique offer spanning youth work and creativity.
As Head of Creative you will be an integral part of our Senior Management Team, sharing collective responsibility for the overall running of the charity.
The Head of Creative leads on the delivery and development of the creative offer, including our agreed programme of artistic and creative programmes for 10-25 year olds, events including exhibitions and productions led by young people, our schools programme where creativity and youth work are co-delivered to ensure young people at risk of disengaging from education remain inspired and supported in school, and our youth voice programme which ensures that young people are placed firmly at the heart of everything we do.
The postholder will also be integral to the development and establishing of opportunities for young people at CYN’s newest building, The Courts (opening June 2024). This will be creative enterprise hub for emerging young creatives from diverse and marginalised backgrounds.
The postholder will provide strategic leadership including the development of new/existing partnerships, safeguarding, fundraising and service/workforce development.

Mayhew is a unique organisation. Our passionate and diverse team of around 80 staff and 150 volunteers provides expert veterinary care, rescue and rehoming services, programmes in the community, and guidance and support to improve the lives of dogs and cats in need, in London and abroad. Currently the need for our services is greater than ever so we are looking to recruit an Head RVN with an interest in shelter and charity medicine.
We have had a community vet clinic on site at our historic Northwest London shelter since 1925. For nearly 100 years, our London clinic has delivered many tens of thousands of treatments to dogs and cats. Through our modern, well equipped veterinary clinic we provide a range of preventative veterinary treatments free of charge, and without judgment, to those who are unable to afford it. We also carry out a wide range of surgeries and treatments in order to prepare the Mayhew animals in our care for rehoming.
Our clinic is RCVS accredited and we are a training centre for veterinary students at the University of Surrey. More information about us can be found on our website.
Our Clinic operates 7-days per week and open to the public Monday to Saturday. Our Head RVN works 35 hours per week, 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. From time to time to we require extra cover on weekends and bank holidays, and out of office hours in the event of an emergency. A share of the extremely quiet, on-call rota is required, this averages about five nights a month which is paid as overtime,
We are a caring and supportive team which when fully staffed will include 3/4 vets, 3/4 nurses, and a clinic receptionist, we are also supported by the lovely animal care team and our volunteers who regularly help us out in the clinic giving our nurses more time to be nurses!
We are looking for a Head Nurse who is a qualified RVN with 5 years + PQE, ideally experienced in shelter medicine, who shares our compassion and commitment for animal welfare. The Head Nurse will bring inspirational, progressive and collaborative leadership to our team of nurses, animal carers and clinic receptionist.
Generally, you will:
- Be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the clinic
- Support the Head of Clinic to enable us to grow our reach and deepen our impact on
- Manage and develop our team of nurses, animal carers and clinic receptionist.
To be successful in this role, you need:
- To be a listed member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons with at least 5 years+ post qualification experience
- Have a passion for animal welfare and improving the lives of dogs and cats who need us the most.
- Experience leading, line managing and developing a high performing team

About this key role
In 2023, we launched an ambitious new income generation strategy for 2023 – 2026. This role is key to our ambitions to raise over £3million worth of income from Trusts and Foundations. You will be expected to:
• identify, research and develop relationships with Trusts and Foundations that align with our strategic objectives,
• prepare applications in line with funder requirements,
• write and submit excellent funding proposals and applications for a range of services across England and Wales.
We will count on you to manage approximately 30 Trust & Foundations, providing a high level of donor care, preparing reports, funder visits and reapplications in a timely manner, while also leading on ensuring our database (ETapestry) is maintained and used to its full potential. As well as providing line management to Fundraising Officer, you will compile updates to Head of Fundraising providing briefings on funding streams and strategic recommendations, prepare service budgets for applications and work with Service Managers to track and report on these budgets, plus prepare regular communication materials for Trusts and Foundations.
What we are looking for
• One-year experience working in a charity fundraising environment.
• Proven record of winning and/or managing a portfolio of grants, or relevant experience/transferable skills.
• Experience of budget setting for new service / grant proposals.
• Expert knowledge of fundraising landscape, particularly Trusts & Foundations.
• A sound knowledge and awareness of the issues faced by our client group, in particular barriers faced by people with lived in experience.
• The ability to create and deliver engaging presentations that makes our work stand out.
• Excellent IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

About the role and team
Working within the wider Supporter Acquisition and Retention teams, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging onboarding journeys for Shelter supporters, ensuring engagement is high throughout. You’ll be responsible for leading the strategic direction of the Individual Giving programme, making data-informed decisions to deliver outstanding supporter experiences.
Leading the team, and matrix managing other pipelines of work, you will be supported by the Head of Supporter Acquisition to deliver multiple projects concurrently. This role is crucial within the team, allowing the team to provide £20m of unrestricted income across Supporter Acquisition, Supporter Retention & Development, and Direct Dialogue.
About you
You will be an experienced Fundraiser, or have worked in a direct marketing environment, and be audience led and supporter centric.
You will also have:
- An understanding of how to develop engaging supporter journeys from point of recruitment
- Strong people skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and with flexibility
- Effective project and campaign management skills, with experience of managing multiple projects or campaigns at once
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Therapies Service at St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney. You will work as part of committed and creative team, which offers innovative therapeutic interventions and support to people with specialist palliative and end life care needs. The Therapies team works in collaboration with other clinical professionals and volunteers across all areas of the service; inpatient, outpatient and community.
This role involves the provision of rehabilitation and non-pharmacological symptom management for patients with advanced illness to optimise their independence and make a significant difference to their quality of life.
Although the post is an AFC Band 6 post, there is scope to progress to an AFC B7 Senior Physiotherapist over a 12-month period subject to meeting role-specific developmental competencies.
We are looking for someone who:
- has highly developed clinical reasoning skills necessary to tailor and adapt therapeutic interventions across a complex patient caseload
- has experience of multi-disciplinary working in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
- is skilled in the management of respiratory, neurological, musculoskeletal, and oncological conditions
- is confident leadership and communication skills
