Job description

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Officer to join our team.

Job Title: Infrastructure Officer

Salary: £44,972

Contract Period: Permanent

Hours: 37 hrs flexible, some out of normal hours work on weekends and evenings

Location: Negotiable; face to face meetings in London on a regular basis, if in line with Government COVID 19 guidance. This job has a national remit so there will be travel throughout the UK

Responsible to: Director

Responsible For: Grants Officers

The role will involve helping to develop the capacity of new and existing BAME organisations by providing high quality advice, information and developmental support; to offer support in helping these organisations develop resources, and to provide assessment frameworks to identify needs and develop tools and templates to meet these, and to deputise for the director as required. The position will be suitable for someone who is flexible, reliable, dedicated and interested in contributing to society.

The Role 

The Infrastructure Officer role is to develop and work with partners to enable a sustainable and consistent infrastructure service for the BAME sector, particularly at regional and local levels. As Infrastructure Officer you will; 

  • To work with the Director and other relevant people to implement transparent and effective infrastructure services
  • To develop assessment frameworks to assess needs with different levels of frameworks to make these suitable for small, informal groups as well as larger organisations
  • To base infrastructure work on identifying some of the structural discriminations faced by BAME groups and develop ways to help groups tackle this
  • To develop and implement training and developmental support to help organisations build capacity to overcome barriers and develop; to develop a library of templates and tools that can help with this
  • To help BAME organisations identify financial resources needed and make applications for these, including the Voice4Change grant making fund
  • To build an infrastructure programme that helps organisations with holistic development, covering all aspects e.g. governance, strategic planning, quality systems, policies, effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation; to organise this in a way that is appropriate for the level of the BAME group.
  • To set key performance indicators for delivery of services and establish processes to capture achievement against these

     

  • To manage Voice4Change Grants Officers through an effective supervision and support framework  

The Person 

To succeed as Infrastructure Officer you will; 

  • Have proven management level experience 

  • Be highly proficient and highly creative in MS Desktop packages, MS SharePoint and Outlook 2010/2016 (mail, calendar and databases) Intranet/Web. Windows 2010/2007 

  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills together with proven leadership capabilities 

  • Must be a proactive team player with strong problem solving skills
