The Volunteering Team is responsible for the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of volunteers at Battersea, and further promoting our inclusive environment and ensuring that our volunteers are involved in all aspects of our work, are valued for their commitment, and recognised for the extraordinary things they do for us.

We are seeking a Volunteer Services Manager to provide leadership, guidance and development to this Volunteering Team and act as an ambassador for volunteering across all Battersea centres and externally. They will have overall responsibility for recruitment and development of volunteers, policies and processes relating to volunteer involvement, and lead in increasing the standard of the volunteering experience across the organisation and creating new opportunities, in all areas of our work.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Area Branch Development Manager to join our field operations team. Responsibilities of our Area Branch Development Manager:

As an Area Branch Development Manager you will be accountable for the development, growth and local governance of branches within a designated area. Providing a solution-driven approach with the aim of helping more cats through the effective engagement of local volunteers. You will develop and deliver an area plan that captures the importance of volunteer engagement, recruitment, support, enabling and succession planning to ultimately achieve branch growth and sustainability. You will work collaboratively with other CP regional teams where appropriate, identifying where there are opportunities to achieve more by working together.

Office Administrator - Donor Communications and Volunteer Liaison

Friends of the Holy Land are looking for an energetic, dedicated individual to join our fast-moving, growing charity.

Friends of the Holy Land has a small network of volunteer supporters around the country and an expanding number of financial donors. This new role will be responsible for communicating with these two communities, with a focus on preparing monthly emails to supporters, monitoring and moderating social media accounts, liaising with external partners to deliver external communications, developing donor stewardship and growing our volunteer network.

The role will also be required to help with regular office duties and will need to be familiar with all aspects of administrative support for the operational success of the charity. You will need to be comfortable working in a faith-based organisation, talking to supporters across the UK and with our partners in the Holy Land, and be competent in creating communications.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

Role Description

As Volunteer Programmes Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects in the Decorate A Child's Life (DACL) and Adventure Play Partnership (APP) volunteering programmes. Your role will include  managing the day-to-day operations for Volunteer Programmes, oversight of programme coordination,  reviewing and updating procedures on a rolling basis and keeping good records, including financial monitoring and collecting impact data for regular reporting. This role may at times include attending site visits to scope projects, and leading and supervising groups of volunteers during project installations. 

You will work closely with fundraising colleagues to match partners/corporate volunteer groups to projects, and from time to time you’ll contribute to scoping new opportunities to adapt our offer for potential partnership pitches. Our Corporate Partnerships Manager will be a key colleague, as you’ll work together to plan and organise volunteering opportunities and to plan and implement a high-quality volunteer experience that ultimately helps the charity to secure income generation corporate partnerships. You’ll need to take a lead role in monitoring and reporting on progress, including the expenditure budget for project delivery, the level of delivery and the capturing of feedback from both beneficiaries and volunteers.

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

What are we looking for?

Sue Lambert Trust are looking for a resilient and experienced  counsellor ready to take on the challenge of a leadership and management role within an organisation passionate about offering a kind, safe and supportive therapeutic service to survivors of sexual abuse and violence. In this role you would be responsible for the professional development of our team of counsellors as well as supporting both trainee and experienced counsellors in their work with us.  

Background Information:

Sue Lambert Trust provides kind, safe, supportive help for people who have experienced sexual or domestic abuse at some point in their lives.

We provide free, specialist support that enables people to recover, heal and build resilience to face the future. Our support is organized around a three-phased trauma informed approach.

Phase One Groundwork is designed to support clients with practical issues as well as providing stabilisation in preparation for counselling. Around 200 clients per year access this service.

Phase Two Counselling is the core provision and is delivered by 50+ trained counsellor volunteers working with around 300 clients weekly.

Phase Three aims to build resilience and includes interventions such as self-help groups.

We are funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioners Office, Ministry of Justice, National Lottery and several local and national Trusts and Foundations.

With the launch of a new strategy to guide us through to 2026 it is an opportune time to be joining an organization that is ambitious in its support for its clients.

Job Title:Counselling Support and Development Manager

Responsible to: Head of Counselling

Job purpose:

1. To ensure that all counsellors and staff are provided with the skills and knowledge to deliver and develop Sue Lambert Trust services.
2. To support the Head of Counselling to manage a team of staff and counsellors in delivering effective, safe and quality counselling and other appropriate therapeutic services.           
3. To support the Head of Counselling in the development of clinical services, and work collaboratively with the Service Support and Development Manager to implement Trauma Informed Practices (TIP)
4. To support the Head of Counselling in creating a safeguarding culture throughout the organisation.

Main responsibilities:

Operational Delivery

1. To develop and lead a needs-based plan for the learning and development of the counselling team aligned with Sue Lambert Trust strategy.

2. To organise and manage trainee counsellor placements, working in partnership with counsellor training providers to support and develop trainees in their ongoing training.

3. To act as the Senior Counselling Lead for all trainee counsellors, undertaking case management monthly

4. To work collaboratively to develop and support the implementation of consistent working practices across our sites with a focus on our Great Yarmouth office.

5. To lead on the development and training of a dedicated team of EMDR practitioners.

6. To act as one of the designated safeguarding leads within the organisation, providing support to Senior Counselling Leads and counsellors

7. To deputise for the Head of Counselling as and when required

Service Delivery

1. To provide one to one counselling and other therapeutic services as appropriate in line with the policies and requirements of the organisation

2. To ensure a skilled clinical team can deliver initial assessments, review and top-up calls, effective allocations, and any other services as directed.

3. To line manage the Senior Counselling Leads based in Great Yarmouth

4. To lead on best practice in clinical service delivery as outlined by BACP guidelines and statutory and regulatory requirements throughout the organisation.

5. To liaise where necessary and appropriate with external supervisors to support counsellors and clients.

Service Development

1. To ensure the clinical team collect client outcome measures and experience of service feedback to inform the ongoing development of the organisation.

3. To lead on clinical development within the counselling management team working alongside the Service Support and Development Manager to ensure quality of policies and procedures is client centred and trauma aware.

PERSON SPECIFICATION – Counselling Support and Development Manager

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Diploma level qualification in counselling

2. Minimum 450 hours clinically supervised counselling experience

3. Achieved or working towards BACP accreditation.

Skills/knowledge required:

1. Experience of planning and implementing a needs-based training and development programme for a team

2. Experience of working and understanding the needs of trainee’s and volunteers within a service

3. Experience of working in a client focussed multi disciplinary service

The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across the Midlands.

The Huntington's Disease Association is a UK registered charity that supports people affected by Huntington's disease across England and Wales. We provide information, advice and support to families, friends, and healthcare professionals.

We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Manager to support and inspire those who volunteer for the charity. You will lead them in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity and work to fulfil the goals of our strategic plan. You will strengthen our current volunteering strands with effective governance and great communication and will develop new volunteering opportunities within the charity.

You will manage our volunteer-led Branches and Support groups who offer peer support, fundraising opportunities and activities locally. You will also manage HD Voice, our panel of volunteers, who contribute to the internal development of the charity and ensure that the voice of the Huntington’s community is at the heart of research into the condition.

You will co-ordinate all aspects of the volunteer journey from recruitment, selection, induction, training and ongoing support and develop effective policies, procedures and guidance for volunteers as well as developing an effective monitoring and evaluation process.

We are looking for someone with strong volunteer management skills who has experience of training volunteers and of writing policies, procedures and guidance in line with data protection guidance. Also someone with great communication and relationship management skills who has experience of managing volunteers at all stages of their volunteer journey.   

There will be regular evening and weekend work as many of our volunteers work themselves so need the support out of office hours. There will be a need for travel across England and Wales.

Universify Education is looking for an organised and adaptable Programme Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone experienced in project management and working with young people to expand the charity’s programmes and work in a small charity.

Job Summary

• Contract type: Permanent, full-time.
• Start date: May/June 2024 or as soon as possible
• Salary: £28,000-32,000 based on experience
• Location: Hybrid working. We have office space in Oxford and London for those wanting to work in person. Willing to travel to Oxford 1-2 times a week, and, during course delivery for 2 months a year, be resident in Oxford (preference for an Oxford-based candidate). There may also be some ad hoc travel to other areas of the UK. This is not expected to be more than once a month.

The Charity

Universify exists to create a fairer, more equal society where every young person can fulfil their potential regardless of their background. We equip young people from low socio-economic and underrepresented backgrounds with the skills, knowledge, and belief to fulfil their potential through education.

We work with Year 10-11 students (aged 14-16) to increase their aspirations, improve GCSE attainment and to gain a greater understanding of post-18 pathways, particularly university, to make a more informed decision about their future. We run a year-long programme, starting with a week-long summer residential at partner universities, monthly coaching sessions with Universify coaches and a 3-day GCSE-focused revision residential at Spring.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Programme Manager, you will manage the Programme Team to deliver the charity’s annual residential and coaching programme and impact reporting. You will act as the primary relationship holder for all existing major programme partners, including universities and other third sector organisations. During programme delivery, you will be a part of the team’s Safeguarding Leads and work with the Programme Team to ensure the safety and care of our participants.

You will report to the CEO and work with them to build relationships with new partners, and develop the charity’s ability to expand the programme by considering its impact data, needs of partners and stakeholders, and any changes to its programme model. You will also maintain the charity’s CRM and improve programme efficiency. As the Programme Manager, you will be involved in events, fundraising activities and publicity, including supporting the Comms officer.

Main Duties

• Oversee programme delivery, including line managing the Programme Team (3 staff)
• Manage existing programme partnerships (universities, third sector organisations) and build new relationships alongside the CEO
• Manage and deliver external programmes including the Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation partnership programme
• Project manage impact reporting, defining data requirements, overseeing data collection and analysis, and writing the impact report
• Work with the Communications Officer and CEO to enhance the charity’s publicity including social media, in-person events, and publicity campaigns
• Provide expertise as a Level 3 safeguarding lead as part of the safeguarding team
• Maintain the charity CRM (Salesforce) and coordinate with developers to update the CRM

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who has the following skills and characteristics

• Excellent line management and team management skills 

• Ability to create and maintain relationships with a range of external stakeholders

• Good working knowledge of recruitment processes, especially within the voluntary sector

• Excellent at coordinating a range of projects simultaneously; organised, adaptable, prioritises well and has good attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to cover a range of audiences and purposes (including impact reporting, written and verbal communication with schools, students, parents; PR; training)

• Some data analysis skills and an understanding of charity impact reporting, or a willingness to learn about impact reporting

• Works well in a small team and is interested in working in a small organisation

Required experience

We are looking for candidates with the following experience

• At least 2 years’ experience of working with young people, particularly vulnerable groups, including delivering programmes
• At least 2 years of project management experience
• At least 1 year’s experience of team management and line management
• Experience of managing and recruiting a range of stakeholders involved in programme delivery, particularly schools and volunteers
• Secure knowledge and experience of child safeguarding policy and practice. Level 3 Safeguarding Lead qualification or a willingness to obtain this as part of the role

Ideally, candidates would have experience in a few of the following areas:

• Experience managing residential programmes or large-scale events. Experience of designing educational programmes
• Experience working with schools and universities
• Coaching expertise and ability to train coaches
• Knowledge of recruitment strategies, especially in the voluntary sector
• Experience expanding programmes and identifying new opportunities to expand programmes
• Impact report writing and data analysis expertise

They will ensure that volunteers receive training, development and supervision to support the families referred us, and that high standards of practice are maintained.
