Spring Community Hub is recruiting a Business Support Coordinator - Marketing. This is an exciting opportunity to join our small, dynamic team to support our marketing and brand management as well as providing day to day administrative support to the Charity.

Person Specification

- Able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and build and maintain partnerships

Based at our Birmingham office, the role will involve visiting our other locations from time to time and attending external meetings, so some flexibility in working hours and some travelling will be necessary. As Project Support Officer you will support the Northern Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training (such as DBS, references, Food Safety Level 2, First Aid), giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our Yorkshire & The Humber projects to aid development and growth within the region.
Our projects are run by volunteers and supported by Regional Managers, through recruitment and training of volunteers. Your role will be to support the Regional Manager so that they can manage more projects, along with supporting the Regional Manager with expansion plans within their areas. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new volunteers for the region.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to external people about our Projects. You will also be a good organizer, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within multiple Projects. You will have a passion for food and cooking, and be committed to our objectives and ethics.
The role will require attendance at our Community Meals projects in Leeds, Sheffield, Hull and Bradford, with occasional evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role.

This requires considerable, skilled networking and relationship-building, both within the Church’s Community Hub, with our existing partner VCFSE organisations and in the wider sector, including local Councils, PCNs and the ICB.
You will also be principally responsible for the organisation’s HR function, risk and compliance, as well as its monitoring and evaluation of impact (for quality assurance and fundraising purposes). This means ensuring best practice is observed and maintained in these and related areas, including line management, service policy, financial management, safeguarding and data privacy.
Knowledge and/or lived experience of mental health difficulties and the relevant support services/treatment modalities is essential; experience working within the mental health sector is highly desirable. Rugby foodbank's Engagement Officer will oversee the smooth running and operation of the foodbank, with concern for its operational efficiency and standards in accordance with The Trussell Trust franchise model. In partnership with the Service Delivery Manager, guide the development of the foodbank project, including its material resources, financial assets, reputation, partnerships and volunteer body. The Engagement Officer will have a key role in the delivery and development of Rugby foodbank and the growth of its services. They will be responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders including volunteers, food and financial donors, partner referral agencies plus community and business groups. The right candidate will be an effective communicator who will work hard to create a positive environment for volunteers, clients, agencies and donors maximising opportunities for engagement.

As a charity, our clients are at the heart of what we do. Although Rugby is a small market town, in 2023 we supported over 190 people at our Day Centre and provided over 7500 foodbank food parcels. Our staff and volunteers are crucial to making this happen. We currently employ 8 members of staff and have 80+ people regular volunteers.
The charity was founded by the churches across the town and continues to hold to Christian principles working to address poverty, primarily homelessness and food poverty in the Borough of Rugby. The churches, as the Revive network, support the work we do both with funding and providing many of our volunteers. Our staff and volunteers support these values and ethos irrespective of belief or background.
We are looking for someone who can work as a flexible team member and with the ability to share and balance duties according to the needs and opportunities of the organisation. You will be an outgoing self-starter who is confident working on their own initiative as well as part of a wider team. Your key skill will be the ability to work with all types so people from every kind of background because you will be engaging with volunteers, clients, trustees and external agencies such as churches, schools and businesses. About the role:
As Programme Manager for 'Our Business', you will be responsible for managing the ‘Our Business' programme from inception to completion and acting as the primary contact between the organisation and our partners at Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and beyond.
The organisation has been tasked by GMCA to deliver the first phase of the ‘Our Business’ project and that’s where you come in. We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead this important and exciting project.
Key responsibilities include:
- To lead the planning, design, delivery, and evaluation of the Our Business project, ensuring successful completion and delivery of the agreed project outcomes.
- To monitor and evaluate the project, delivering analysis and reports as necessary and complying with all GMCA reporting requirements, including using the GMCA’s GMIT system and ensuring that the programme achieves and reports on meeting its stated target outputs and outcomes.
- To support the set-up of the Our Business co-operative, ensuring that it is delivered in line with the requirements of co-operative governance and Values and Principles.
- To identify and secure a variety of funding mechanisms to support Our Business as a sustainable and independent co-operative beyond the life of the project.
- To form strategic relationships with large infrastructure bodies, recruiting them into membership of the Our Business co-operative.
- To complete the Social Value Portal reporting in line with GMCA’s requirements, ensuring that the social value targets for the programme are met.
- To manage the strategic partnership between various project stakeholders, including GMCA, Co-operatives UK, the training provider, and member groups, ensuring that everyone is kept informed and updated and can work collaboratively to ensure full cohesion and successful execution of the project.

About you:
