Volunteering Matters Rhondda Cynon Taf
Volunteering Matters is looking for an experienced and dynamic Volunteer Manager to join our Delivery team in Rhondda Cynon Taf. The role will involve engaging participants to take part in the projects delivered across the area. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, presently activities are predominantly online.
Purpose of the role
To be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting our volunteers across Rhondda Cynon Taf, engaging beneficiaries, and working closley with our partners and funders.
The main focus of work will be on the Sporting Chance project. As part of the ‘Be Active RCT’ consortium, the project will engage people, with a focus on older men, to participate in healthy and active social groups, which will be developed in target local communities across the borough. A volunteer-led model of delivery will be used, which will encourage local ownership and sustainability of activities. During the Covid-19 pandemic, activities will mainly be delivered online with an emphasis on finding new participants to join existing and developing activities.
Work on other projects could also include our Welcome Friends befriending project, younger people’s volunteering, social action projects, intergenerational schools volunteering and full-time volunteering.
The post holder will be accountable to the Delivery Leader for Wales and the South West.
