Job Description

The Permanent Part Time (0.6) Head of Finance is a core member of the organisation's structure and is a strategic partner to the Director of Operations on all areas of finance. Responsibilities will include:

 

Run the accounting functions

• Manage payment runs and other banking.
• Manage payroll, pension and staff benefits as required.
• Administer investments and banking.
• Cashflow Management.
• Finance app management inc. Xero, ApprovalMax

Management accounts and planning

• Produce management accounts.
• Analyse trends and variances, and other analysis as required.
• Model company finances including budgets and 3-year business plan.

Compliance

• Manage VAT, corporation tax, and tax planning.
• Generate and review accounting and compliance policies.
• Work with auditors throughout the year as required.
• Implement and manage spending and authorisation controls.

The Successful Applicant

• Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW etc)
• 5+ years PQE
• Can demonstrate working independently and as finance lead with board responsibilities. (Experience in a SME preferable)
• May suit fractional or part-time (3 days/week). Flexible working possible.

Legal Counsel

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Legal counsel to join their team in finance and operations department. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution.   

As a Legal counsel with Clean Air Fund you would help to work closely with CAF’s Senior Leadership Team to ensure CAF complies with its required legal and funder obligations and to advise on all CAF contracts which primarily constitute grants. The role brings legal expertise to offer expert solution-focused input across a wide range of issues to ensure that as CAF grows rapidly and robustly. 

To be successful in this role you will have:

• UK qualified solicitor 
• Experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on contracts with a range of external stakeholders 
• Experience of legal risk and compliance, gained in a non-profit, philanthropic or impact driven environment is preferable 
• An up-to-date understanding and practice of UK charity law 
• Previous experience working in-house will be beneficial

The Prince of Wales Hospice is passionate about providing specialist care for adults with a terminal diagnosis, and also those around them. The hospice offers a 13-bedroom ward for patients who need round the clock care as well as a Wellbeing and Outreach service – in total the Prince of Wales Hospice cares for over 300 people a year! Despite costing £11,000 a day to run the hospice and £4m a year, all of the services are entirely free of charge to patients and their families so the hospice is largely dependent on fundraised income.

The Role

As a Community and Partnerships Fundraiser you will be responsible for developing community and corporate fundraising activity in aid of the Hospice by proactively engaging community groups. Duties will also include:

• Analysing Partnerships fundraising income streams and developing a work programme for growth
• Designing and delivering fundraising campaigns for community groups, schools, individuals and companies
• Identifying and researching contacts from priority organisations, planning approaches and developing relationships
• Representing the Hospice at community and corporate fundraising events, assisting in the smooth running of events where required
• Working with the Supporter Care Team to maximise the use of the fundraising database.

About the Role:

This role is based in Bedfordshire with consideration given to hybrid working. As an Independent Stalking Advocate you will be:

• providing a high quality support & advocacy service to victims of stalking
• working closely with our current Domestic Abuse Stalking Advocate, providing cover for this role as required
• managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support
• working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe
• working within a multi-agency framework consisting of voluntary and statutory partners to build local partnerships, in order to offer a coordinated response to stalking
• promoting the service and raise awareness of stalking through regular training of local partners.

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of stalking would be advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work & deal with competing demands
• Ideally you will hold a ISAC or SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with victims of stalking and/or domestic abuse

The successful candidate will be an all-round communications specialist who has a track record of being both strategic and operational with the personal credibility to engage with senior stakeholders and ultra-high net worth individuals to maximise communication opportunities. The Director of Communications & Marketing plays a key role in amplifying the impact of the British Asian Trust’s work and publicise key projects.

Some of the key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Develop and lead a successful Communications & Marketing strategy across the full range of communications disciplines including digital and social media, brand marketing, media and PR celebrity management, production of materials and internal communications.

· Together with the Fundraising Team ensure a strong and effective supporter engagement strategy.

· Line management of the UK-based Communications Team and matrix management of in-country Communications Teams (India and Pakistan).

· Ensure a motivated and high performing Communications Team and create a culture of accountability and collaboration– encouraging empowerment of staff, delegated decision making and a problem-solving approach

· Provide the SMT and Board of Trustees with regular communications reports on performance against plans, targets and ROI.

· Be the lead communications voice at SMT.

To be successful in this role you will have:

· An all-round communications specialist including significant digital experience 

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a persuasive and passionate communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills

· Track record of developing impactful communications and digital strategies

· Demonstrable experience of senior leadership roles in comparable and complex organisations with a growth mindset and high levels of ambition.

· An understanding of the non-profit sector and how it differs from other sectors.

· Entrepreneurial, self-starter, able to work independently.

About the role:

We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to work alongside mental health team in Bedfordshire. This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract until 5th July 2025. This is a key role working alongside the ELFT team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training to court staff, criminal justice agencies and local partners

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.
• A driving license and use of a car as this is a countywide role.
