Country and People Strategy:
Contribute to the development of the Country Strategic Plan. Work closely and collaboratively as a member of the Senior Management Leadership Team to contribute to the development and delivery of the quality programming and Country's Strategy and Operating Plans.
Represent VSO at internal and external events and meetings as appropriate and build relationship with stakeholders, internal and external networks, partner organizations, consortiums to form partnership and strengthen engagement to position VSO as a leader in volunteering for development.
Provide HR expertise with an in-depth understanding of all people related costs in country for a full cost recovery, an effective pipeline development on people resourcing, including budgeting processes and risk management. Through the Regional People Manager, contribute to the development and implementation of a global strategy, working in partnership with the Senior Management Leadership Team to understand country priorities. Staff Management and Support:
Ensure all consultants receive efficient 'customer care' throughout placements, ensuring global logistics processes and policies are followed and any local adjustments are identified, updated and monitored. Oversee medical management of staff and consultants as per the global process, as well as all CO security procedures (risk assessments, development of security and contingency plans, security orientations, etc.).
Ensure staff and consultants registration is conducted in accordance with legal requirements, including visas, work permits and police clearance. Ensure staff and consultants are briefed on all CO Procedures and local policies.
People Management and Leadership:
Effectively develop and manage a team in People Department of the CO. Ensure PD team performs to a high standard in line with global processes. Working with the CD and FM and the Regional People Manager to promote a culture of high performance, creativity, ambition, customer service, positive communication and teamwork within the CO and ensure team ways of working and behaviors are in line with VSO values, policies and legal compliance.
Facilitate the performance management process across the CO under VSO's performance management principles and support systems and tools
