London, Greater London
Job description

(Finance, Higher Education and Fundraising)

North London

This is an exciting time to join the Wac Arts Board and apply your substantial experience to this voluntary appointment. We have just appointed a new Chief Executive to deliver the next phase of the organisation’s modernisation.

Wac Arts uses the infinite power of the Arts to unleash the extraordinary potential of young people. For over 40 years, Wac Arts has offered a year round accessible programme of performing arts classes and media training for young people aged 5-30 and their families. Now we want to do even more.

Our ambition is to significantly increase the number of young people to experience the transformational effect of Wac Arts, whilst extending our rich heritage of participation to a wider audience.

We are also custodians of the striking Grade 2 listed Old Town Hall in Belsize Park and its transformation is key to our future plans. Inside Out Wac Arts (IOWA) is our project to make our home more accessible, sustainable and open for people of all ages. We are in the process of developing phase one of the project, which will transform the front part of the building.

We are looking for three trustees with demonstrable experience in one of the following:  Finance, Higher Education or Fundraising. In this key board-level position you must be prepared for...  and indeed relish... the challenge of transformation, bringing expertise, energy and ‘can do’ leadership in order to support change.

Diverse backgrounds will be particularly welcome, including those who have not previously been a Trustee or Non-Executive.

Closing date for applications is Monday 18th November With interviews for successful candidates w/c 25th November
