We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Manager to support and inspire those who volunteer for the charity. You will lead them in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity and work to fulfil the goals of our strategic plan. You will manage our volunteer-led Branches and Support groups who offer peer support, fundraising opportunities and activities locally. In this role, you will offer clinical supervision to the Macmillan Support Line teams including advisers, nurses, line managers, service knowledge specialists and other groups and individuals as needed. You will be part of a team of 3 part-time clinical supervisors and will be given opportunities to feedback on recurrent themes to the organisation. You will be running regular small group supervision sessions (approximately 3 per day) for 1hr 15’ each, managing a caseload of approximately 25 groups monthly. You will also offer individual supervision where needed.

Overview

The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.

About you

• Knowledge and experience on creating channel and audience-specific content that maximises user engagement.
• Ability to spot trends and opportunities to ensure we stand out from the crowd.
• You’ll be confident in creating a range of impactful visual assets (graphics, video, photo), and really understand how to get the best results in each placement.
• You’ll be a great communicator with the ability to tell a great story via social content, adept at writing engaging copy, but also able to manage sensitive conversations on social.
• Have great interpersonal skills are also key to allow you to develop great relationships with internal teams, and to work closely with people affected by dementia.
• Whether it’s a person with the condition themselves, a carer or someone that’s lost a loved one, you’ll be able to bring their experiences and stories to life through our channels.
• Have a particular interest in using analytics tools to drive performance through data and insight is essential.
• You’ll be confident creating reports that align with strategic objectives and demonstrate business impact.

Description

We have a very exciting opportunity for anyone who enjoys working on the front-line of patient support across the Gloucester region.

This role will deliver Kidney Care UK’s Patient Support and Advocacy service in the region. This varied role deals with every aspect of a patient’s life that supports better outcomes: welfare benefits, practical, emotional and social support. As well as directly supporting patients, you will raise awareness of the wide range of local and national resources available to kidney patients, and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other stakeholder groups in the region.

Based at home (laptop and mobile phone provided), you will be expected to travel independently across the Gloucester area and manage your own caseload with the support of your line manager and other members of our national friendly, committed team.

We’ll provide the training, you’ll bring enthusiasm and your experience of working with chronically ill patients in a social, care or health role.

The role is a two-year contract initially. We can consider applications for a split role or job share, please indicate the hours you are seeking. Applications from those with experience of living with CKD in a personal or professional capacity are particularly welcome.
