Warwick-based charity, The Gap Community Centre, makes a huge difference to the lives of the residents of Leamington and Warwick, both young and old (and all ages in between), by offering an extensive programme of physical and social activities, a range of support groups, educational workshops and emotional counselling services. To continue delivering this work and ensuring future sustainability, we now need to increase our voluntary income to fund both projects and core costs.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our small organisation, where you will be part of a highly motivated, successful team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the fundraising strategy for wide range of innovative projects, which support some of the most disadvantaged children, older adults, families and individuals in the local area. You will also need to be creative and think of successful ways of raising enough income to cover essential core costs such as salaries, utility bills and building maintenance.
You will be required to apply to small/medium trusts and foundations for funding and will need to develop and maintain good relations with funders, including ensuring they receive timely updates and reports. You will also provide administrative support for the team, including processing income, managing internal funding requests, and producing high quality fundraising materials. In addition, knowledge of Corporate Fundraising and organising fundraising events is highly desirable, with a view to identifying alternative funding streams.
You will bring experience of working with others and positively contributing to a team’s success. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, and excellent organisational skills and experience of meeting multiple deadlines. You will also be a self-starter, able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team with enthusiasm, and to offer hands-on support to others.
We are forward looking, ambitious and with a commitment to continuous improvement. We are a people focused, can-do organisation that strives for excellence in all we do and operates with mutual respect. If you share these values and behaviours and have the necessary skills, then we look forward to hearing from you.
