Location: Waverley Abbey, Waverley Abbey House, Waverley Lane, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 8EP
Contract: Fixed Term Contract, Part time
Salary: £150 Day rate
Hours: 2 days per week
JOB PURPOSE
This role is for a contract tutor who is a qualified counsellor, who can engage in teaching, learning and assessment practices in both undergraduate and postgraduate counselling programmes.
KEY TASKS:
The key tasks that are outlined below may vary depending on the needs, and requirements, of the college’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This means that not all of the tasks outline in this Job Description will necessarily be undertaken by the post holder. The tasks are:
To successfully deliver teaching, learning and assessment as required.
To:
- Collaboratively work alongside undergraduate and/or postgraduate tutors in the implementation of the successful delivery of Counselling programmes
- Collaboratively work alongside postgraduate Counselling tutors in writing and delivering programme content
To:
- Keep training in line with academic and professional requirements as appropriate
- Maintain the integrity and ethos of the Waverley Integrative Framework and consistency with overall Programme validated requirements
Engage in marking of student assessments, including:
- Maintain standards in marking and grading of assessments
- Offering tutorial support and oversight of students’ personal development
Supported by colleagues to assure the welfare, spiritual well-being and psychological safety of students, within the parameters of the course. Responsibilities include:
- Offering pastoral and tutorial support
- To attend residential training teaching blocks
- To engage in facilitating small groups: process groups, group supervision groups, observed practice groups etc.
- To continue personal professional development through professional conferences, further education and training etc.
- To maintain a personal counselling caseload (e.g., in private practice or at an agency) in accordance with the highest standards required by professional bodies, including having professional indemnity insurance, clinical supervision, and any other requirements in accordance with the context of the practice (e.g., DBS check)
- To attend one college-wide all staff training day per year
- To have BACP/ ACC full membership, or other recognised professional body
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by the post-holder’s line manager
