Job Title: Wales Manager
Hours: 3 days a week (0.6)
Salary: £34,000 pro rata
Reports to: Head of Services
Location: Penygraig, RCT/Hybrid
The Wales manager oversees the We Stand services in South Wales. Working closely with other We Stand service managers, and our partner, Valley’s Kids, you will ensure that services are safe, effective and run using We Stand’s whole-family approach.
Role description and Key Responsibilities
Lead on We Stand’s work in Wales:

Setup and oversee We Stand’s face to face services in Wales, including face to face counselling, peer support, parent training and child therapy

Work closely with other We Stand service managers to embed existing We Stand services in Wales, such as online counselling and legal services
Ensure quality service delivery in Wales:
-
Oversee referrals to services in Wales and conduct client assessments

Co-ordinate local service timetables, managing waiting lists and attendance registers
-
Recruit and line manage play therapists, and other Wales staff as required
-
Recruit, induct and support volunteers including trainee counsellors on placement
-
Deliver face to face services, this could include parent workshops, peer support groups or face to face counselling

Work collaboratively with other We Stand service managers and existing clients to provide support that is tailored to suit the needs of our clients

Ensure services in Wales are safe and effective and that safeguarding concerns are managed appropriately
Partnership working:
-
Ensure an effective working relationship with our key partner agency, Valley’s Kids
-
Develop We Stand’s presence in South Wales, building effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies in the area

Attend external meetings and liaise with external professionals as required
Other duties:

Attend regular clinical supervision, supported by We Stand
-
Attend regular We Stand staff and team meetings
-
Carry out any other reasonable duties required from time to time by the charity
Person Specification
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
-
A recognised counselling or therapeutic qualification
-
Experience of service coordination and project management
-
Experience of working with clients who have experienced high levels of trauma
-
Experience of partnership working, with a local knowledge of services in South Wales
-
High level communication skills, including experience of communicating effectively across cultures and with diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing
-
An ability to manage a team of staff and volunteers
-
An ability to develop, monitor, review and take responsibility for the implementation of a project plan including the monitoring and evaluation of projects
-
Excellent IT skills – with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
-
Excellent organisational and time management skills
-
Fluency in Welsh - desirable
