We are seeking an experienced, innovative and creative events professional to join and play an active role within our busy Challenge Events Team in our ambitious and fast-paced organisation. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for a motivated, collaborative and hardworking individual with vision and expertise to contribute to the management and growth of this important income stream. The role involves liaising with a large number of third parties and events companies, plus the in-house organisation of WellChild’s own events and involvement in the management of financial budgets.
Interested candidates will be able to demonstrate significant recent experience in planning and delivering a variety of high-profile and successful events and will have the ability to build and sustain valuable relationships across a wide range of audiences. You will be able to effectively prioritise and work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst demonstrating excellent attention to detail, organisation, communication and research skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude. A good understanding of budgets is essential and you will be a competent user of all Microsoft Office applications.
Due to the nature of this role there will be the requirement to work approximately 10 weekends away plus actively join some events with participants (e.g Trekking on the Three Peaks challenge).
WellChild, based in the centre of Cheltenham, is the national charity for seriously ill children and their families. We fund programmes and services to make it possible for children and young people living with serious illness or exceptional health needs to be cared for at home instead of hospital.
