"Cancer Support Centre Manager - Chandler's Ford

26 Hours per week over 4 days - Currently Monday to Thursday

c£22k pro-rata

We are looking for an organised, empathetic and enthusiastic person to make sure the clients and teams (paid staff and volunteers) at our Chandler's Ford centre are well and professionally looked after. Our clients visit us for a wide range of well-being related activities, including individual and group therapies (from counselling to therapeutic massage) to help them through what is often a very personal and hugely challenging time - both during and after their own treatment, or often the treatment of a loved one.

So we're looking for someone special to rise to that challenge.

This is a broad and challenging role with a wide range of responsibilities. You will be responsible for building great working relationships with a wide variety of people and partner organisations inside and outside the centre. Additionally, you will plan and manage a busy schedule of centre activities and be available when people going through a difficult time might just need a chat and a cup of tea. Very importantly, you will support and develop your team to make sure they can both deliver in their roles and also that their time with you is a worthwhile and rewarding one.

Previous experience of a similar environment is an advantage but not essential. What is essential is that you want to make a real difference to people who are currently living with cancer. Additionally you will need a blend of organisational, inter-personal and communication skills together with an empathetic and caring disposition. Finally, we are growing. We are providing more support for increasingly more people as we come out of Covid and more people are re-accessing the healthcare system, so ideally we would like to hear from candidates who can grow with us.
