The Huntington's Disease Association is a UK registered charity that supports people affected by Huntington's disease across England and Wales. We provide information, advice and support to families, friends, and healthcare professionals.

We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Manager to support and inspire those who volunteer for the charity. You will lead them in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity and work to fulfil the goals of our strategic plan. You will strengthen our current volunteering strands with effective governance and great communication and will develop new volunteering opportunities within the charity.

You will manage our volunteer-led Branches and Support groups who offer peer support, fundraising opportunities and activities locally. You will also manage HD Voice, our panel of volunteers, who contribute to the internal development of the charity and ensure that the voice of the Huntington’s community is at the heart of research into the condition.

You will co-ordinate all aspects of the volunteer journey from recruitment, selection, induction, training and ongoing support and develop effective policies, procedures and guidance for volunteers as well as developing an effective monitoring and evaluation process.

We are looking for someone with strong volunteer management skills who has experience of training volunteers and of writing policies, procedures and guidance in line with data protection guidance. Also someone with great communication and relationship management skills who has experience of managing volunteers at all stages of their volunteer journey.   

There will be regular evening and weekend work as many of our volunteers work themselves so need the support out of office hours. There will be a need for travel across England and Wales.

As the Administration and Liaison Officer you will be the primary point of contact and the face of the Rugby foodbank for all stakeholders.  You will need to have excellent administration and communication skills as you will be our contact point for volunteers, clients, voucher issuing agencies, food and financial donors. In partnership with the Service Delivery Manager, you will guide the development of the foodbank project including its material resources, financial assets, reputation, partnerships and volunteer body.

· To support the Events department in organising and delivering a range of internal, corporate, remembrance and VIP events. This includes Memorial Dedications and services, Arboretum managed events and thirds party events delivered at the Arboretum

· To support internal and external stakeholders to ensure correct events procedures are followed at all times

· To coordinate the booking and scheduling of events in the Arboretum’s diary and working closely with internal departments and the Events Manager to communicate event plans and ensure minimum impact on the operation of the Arboretum

· To work with the events team to produce event plans, event briefing notes, and regularly sending scheduling updates to other departments 

· To manage and carry out detailed evaluations on events and functions with recommendations using data for future planning

· To organise internal and external meetings when required, writing agendas, and taking minutes; plus circulating feedback forms

Please note that this role will be based onsite at the National Memorial Arboretum - Burton-on-Trent DE13 7AR. The post will be working a 35 hour week, on a 5 days out of 7 basis.

8. Using data and evidence to monitor KPIs and track trends, helping the Development Team make informed decisions.

Your experience:

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Rape Crisis South London) is looking for a committed, professional and skilled Helpline Support worker to provide high quality emotional support, information and signposting in our Support Line team.

The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line is a partnership between Rape Crisis England and Wales, the Rape and Sexual Abuse support Centre (RASASC - Rape Crisis South London) and two other Rape Crisis Centres (ARCH Teesside and Lincolnshire Rape Crisis). The post-holder for this role is employed by RASASC (Rape Crisis South London).

The post-holder will provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors of any form of sexual violence, of any gender, aged 16 and upwards, and their supporters via phone calls and chats. Helpline Support Workers also provide support to colleagues and volunteers as part of their daily duties. Helpline Support workers have experience of either providing emotional support on a telephone helpline or experience providing support to survivors of sexual violence. You will also need to have good knowledge and understanding of the impact of sexual violence. 

It’s an exciting time to join The National Lottery Community Fund as the Environmental Officer on a part time basis, 25 hours a week.

The National Lottery Community Fund is delivering an environmental strategy that will not only help communities we Fund but also identifies us as an exemplar in managing our own environmental impact. 

The role will help lead our journey to net zero emissions by 2030, as well as support our environmental strategy both internally and externally.  An interest in climate change and an understanding of environmental sustainability in the workplace will be a key part to this role as well as the confidence to bring in new ideas. 

The role will sit within the Facilities team which helps support all nine of the Funds offices which are based in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

The environmental officer role will be varied but some of the key responsibilities are:

• You will be responsible for facilitating the Fund’s efforts to reduce its environmental impact and move towards being a net zero organisation by 2030. You will lead best practice around environmental sustainability across sites and engage staff to consider their own impact.
•  You will draw learning and resources from external sources, to develop an array of approaches, with a view to getting all staff to consider the resources they use, irrespective of their motivation.
• You will support the Fund’s established Climate action network, ensuring that they all feel connected to and can contribute to energy and resource savings projects/initiatives/themes.
• You will ensure projects are well planned and progressed and will collate and share environmental measures to demonstrate achievements.
• You will help with environmental data capture and carbon accounting and reporting on any trends both internally and externally.
• You will also provide relevant updates to SMT and work closely with the SMT lead on environmental sustainability, highlighting any issues requiring resolution.
• The role will mainly be based in one office, but you’ll be required to engage across the Fund and develop communications that will reach all staff.
• You may be drawn into any project/team to advise on environmental sustainability.
• You will engage as the sustainable business partner with internal and external stakeholders and will support the communication of strong external messages declaring our dedication to working sustainably.

The ideal candidate for this role should have:

• Passion, commitment, and enthusiasm to help deliver our net zero targets.
• Good communication skills as well as strong analytical and report writing skills.
• Previous experience of environmental sustainability within the workplace would be beneficial.

About the role

In this role, you will offer clinical supervision to the Macmillan Support Line teams including advisers, nurses, line managers, service knowledge specialists and other groups and individuals as needed. As part of their continuing professional development, you will enable colleagues to reflect on their practice in supporting people affected by cancer while maintaining their own wellbeing.

You will be part of a team of 3 part-time clinical supervisors and will be given opportunities to feedback on recurrent themes to the organisation. You will learn about organisational wellbeing and be a key part of a team capable of working in an emotionally challenging, fast paced, live contact centre environment.

You will be running regular small group supervision sessions (approximately 3 per day) for 1hr 15’ each, managing a caseload of approximately 25 groups monthly. You will also offer individual supervision where needed.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• You must hold one of the following qualifications: Clinical Supervision Level 6 or above; accredited Counsellor or Psychotherapist (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, UK Council for Psychotherapy, Health Professionals Council)
• Your experience of delivering both 1-1 and group supervision virtually will be essential
• Experience of delivering supervision to colleagues who provide a live, frontline, fast paced health related service is desirable

The Community Fundraising Officer is an exciting role for a community fundraiser who wants to make a positive impact and drive income generation. Sitting in the Community Fundraising and Events department within the Marketing and Income Generation Directorate the Community Fundraising Officer plays a pivotal role in leading and supporting community activities to drive and grow community fundraised income. UKCF are the membership organisation for 47 UK community foundations; the only national network of charitable funders with a physical presence in every part of the UK and the UK’s 4th largest funder.

We are currently using a shared legacy system built with Salesforce Classic though will be implementing and supporting 38 individual Salesforce instances from June 2024 for each Community Foundation. Each individual instance will be based on a network agreed Salesforce design, with the ability for foundations to bespoke their system to fit their individual needs if required.

This role of Systems Administrator reports into the Network Digital Transformation Lead and will initially cover our existing legacy system and be an integral part of the implementation, data migration and ongoing development and support of the new system and structure.

A medium sized health education charity is seeking a Finance Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.

The organisation is an established charity that provides information and guidance on various aspects of veganism. Services range from general advice on vegan lifestyle – diet, travel, shopping etc, campaigning activities, additional services to charity members, and the certification and labelling of products based on their internationally recognised Vegan Trademark.

The organisation has around 65 staff with a turnover of around £4 million annually. Their central offices are in Birmingham, however this role can be taken on almost exclusively remotely – it is anticipated that there will be approximately 6 journeys per year required either to the Birmingham office or another mutually agreeable location – for staff events and meetings.

The role sits within a small finance team of 3, and will be highly varied covering most aspects of transactional finance. The starting salary is between £29,413 - £31,508, however they have regular salary reviews and growth in the role is possible. They also have an excellent benefits package including a pension scheme, employee assistance programme, 28 days leave + bank holidays, plus additional leave available as part of a sustainable transportation climate perks policy.

The ideal candidate will be AAT part-qualified with experience in a similar Finance Officer level role. Exposure to double-entry bookkeeping and an understanding of charity finance would be an advantage. Experience with Sage accounting is also useful. The organisation is a flexible employer and although the role is ultimately permanent they welcome applicants wishing to be considered on a part-time basis as part of a job share, and will also consider candidates on a shorter term fixed term contract basis if this is preferable to a permanent contract initially.

It is expected that staff adhere to a vegan lifestyle as much as possible, however being vegan is not a pre-requisite.

Typical duties will include:

-Work closely with the sales team and raise invoices in accordance with the sales process.

-Support the credit control function and chase outstanding payments for renewals and new business.

-Provide up-to-date debtor ledger reports as required.

-Process invoices and expenses for payment ensuring adherence to internal purchase policies and procedures.

-Provide support and guidance to staff members and chase outstanding documentation to ensure correct processes are always followed.

-On a weekly basis, process supplier payments and staff expenses online ready for authorisation.

-Support the reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, merchant platforms and aggregators.

-Maintain responsibility of designated balance sheet codes and assist with the preparation of month-end reporting.

-Ensure balance sheets are kept up to date in readiness for year-end and annual audit.

-Work closely with the Finance Manager and support the Auditor during the annual financial audit.

-Assist with the development of financial policies, streamline processes, production of working instructions and training materials.

-Support the development of financial business critical systems and processes to increase efficiency and improve user journeys.

-Investigate, report and where necessary make improvements to minimise non-compliance to ensure robust policies and procedures.

-Support the Finance Manager and make suggestions for continuous improvement of systems and processes to support business requirements.

-Support the management of the finance mailboxes and respond to emails in a timely manner.

-Act as the first point of contact and provide timely responses to internal and external stakeholders, customers and suppliers by email and over the telephone.

Candidate requirements:

-AAT part or fully-qualified

-Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment.

-Good working knowledge of day-to-day transactional finance, including all aspects of purchase and sales ledger, credit control, bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation and journal entries.

-A working knowledge of VAT.

-Excellent customer service skills.

-Experience of using accounting software – Sage Cloud /Sage Intact desirable

-Knowledge and experience of working with databases and CRM systems.

-An understanding of charity finance is desirable but not essential
