Job description

WLM’s mission is to empower positive change.

WLM has been working in the community in London since 1887.  We currently work in Lambeth, Southwark, Westminster and Islington providing a range of services including supported accommodation for ex-military personnel, a residential care home for men managing an addiction to alcohol, an approved premise for men coming out of prison, advice and support for people experiencing homelessness, affordable and accessible counselling in the community and financial resilience services.

WLM is a values-led organisation. Our people are the heart of what we do. We have recently embarked on developing an asset-based approach in partnership with Mayday Trust building on our work embedding recovery and psychologically informed approaches.

WLM St Luke’s is a neighbourhood hub committed to providing local people with the tools and knowledge to become more financially resilient and to gain digital skills. WLM St Luke's is also home to Pret House at WLM St Luke’s, a unique accommodation project set up in collaboration with Pret A Manger’s Pret Foundation. Pret House at WLM St Luke’s, which opened in February 2019, is an innovative idea combining, employment, mentoring and accommodation.

WLM Burgess Park House & WLM Cherry Tree House are our residential services providing supported housing services for men and women who have served in the British military.

To oversee WLM’s established residential services which consist of:

  • WLM Ex-Military Supported Housing (Burgess Park House & Cherry Tree House).
  • Luke’s Residential (WLM Low-Cost Housing; Pret House).

The Residential Services Manager will provide day to day operational support to the team delivering services in the above projects.

To provide a smooth turnaround and minimise voids, the post holder will be proactive in streamlining the resident experience from referral, interview and booking in, through to planning move on, checking out and advertising vacancies. We want our residents to be at the centre of our decision-making practice and so the post holder will apply the principles of Person-led Planning & Strength Based Working to the team’s approach with the people that live with us.

A sound knowledge of the housing landscape in London and beyond will help the post holder to achieve positive outcomes for our residents.

In return WLM offers a competitive salary, generous annual leave (27 days on appointment, rising to 30 days after 5 years continuous service), staff benefits including interest free season ticket loan and group personal pension plan.

  • Please apply via our website.
  • Please note an Enhanced DBS certificate is required for the role.
  • Interviews will be held after the closing date.
  • The closing date for applications is midnight Friday 23rd April 2021.
