Adult Counselling Service Team Leader

WORCESTERSHIRE/HEREFORDSHIRE

Role overview

WMRSASC is an established, thriving and growing charity providing specialist services to individuals and families affected by sexual violence. We are looking to recruit an Adult Counselling Team Leader to support the management and development of our dedicated team of counsellors. The ideal candidate will have a sound background of working in this sector and experience of managing or leading a team.

The post holder will be based in either our Worcester or Hereford office, depending on location of applicant.

The main purpose of the role is to:

Work in co-operation with the counselling services manager, mentoring and supporting the counselling team and volunteers to deliver services offered by WMRSASC to any person who has experienced sexual violence of any kind.

- Support the development of service provision
- Support the management team where required
- Provide mentoring and support training for counsellors and placement counselling
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Support inductions for newly recruited staff
- Support assessment and quality assurance reviews
- Undertake administrative duties associated with the post
- Support client group work
- Support and attend peer group skills sharing of resources
- Support CYP counselling service
- Manage an agreed caseload

You will need to hold a Level 4 or equivalent in counselling/psychotherapy and have current membership and registration with a recognised professional body such as the BACP.

WMRSASC offers a comprehensive training package, ongoing CPD and Clinical supervision. We also offer optional membership to a private health scheme and 3% employer pension contributions.

Annual leave is currently 26 days plus 8 days statutory holidays per annum to be calculated pro rata to hours worked. (Increases to 31 days from the April following five year’s continuous service).

West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people, and adults. All successful candidates are required to have a current Enhanced DBS check with WMRSASC before any offer is confirmed.
