We are looking for a mentoring coordinator to plan, develop and implement a 6 month pilot mentoring programme. This is an exciting opportunity to shape an innovative new programme offering support for local young people, whilst enabling local residents to connect with their community. The programme will match young people to local residents for mentoring, and will work in close partnership with Oasis Academy Silvertown. This is a new project, so the successful candidate will need to evaluate existing programmes, network within the community to grow a pool of mentors, set up appropriate systems and oversee training and support for mentors.
The successful applicant will have a friendly and approachable manner, and will be able to grow relationships effectively. You will have experience of coordinating youth programmes, and partnership working. You will also need an ability to work independently and a solid understanding of safeguarding practices. Experience of mentoring programmes, and a good understanding of operations within schools is desirable. If successful, we will use this pilot to secure long term funding for mentoring.
If you relish a challenge, are keen to make a positive difference to people’s lives and contribute at the heart of a diverse community in London’s Royal Docks then we would love to hear from you.
We want to hear from all interested candidates, and to be considered for the position we strongly recommend submitting a covering letter along with your CV, outlining why you're right for the role.
