Job description

Contract length: Fixed Term until March 2022 (with possible extension). 

Hours: Full time 

Occasional overseas travel will be required

Civil Service pension- defined benefit: Generous employer contribution up to 27.9%

25 days paid annual leave and 8 public holidays


Reporting to the Head of Business Development, this new role will work across the organisation with WFD's global country offices, our teams in London, interacting with international and UK donors/institutions and with WFD's partners.

As our new Bid Manager your focus will be on leading specific funding opportunities, managing the process from initial identification and preposition, through to preparation of concept notes and proposals:  Identify emerging donor trends and contribute to diversification of donor funding. Providing targeted business development support to specific Country Offices and contributing to the organisation’s business development. 


You will have all the usual characteristics of a seasoned Bid Manager, great project planning skills,  attention to detail, coaching, and will also need to have the following background in and experience of;


Grants and Contracts

Private and Not for Profit sector

Commercial flare with understanding of Not for Profit sector

High success rate in securing funding from institutional donors

International development experience

Donors experience covering international and UK donors/institutions

Full cycle bid and proposal services

Landscape mapping
