Job Description

Westward Housing Group is a major housing association in the south west. As a developing landlord, we build new homes across the region, working in partnership with local authorities to rent homes to those in need.

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Support Worker who will be part of our mental health supported living team in Teignbridge.

Our accommodation based services provide a short term home and support for people who are living with a mental health issue. We aim to enable people to live full and independent lives before they move into their own place with our support.

Using a personalised and recovery-based approach, you will be helping people to integrate into their community and assisting them in their liaison with appropriate support agencies. The main focus of the work is to provide a practical skill-base for people to use so that they can live safely and independently and take a fuller part in community life.

You will have experience of working with people, either in a paid or voluntary capacity and an understanding of the difficulties facing disadvantaged people.

Interviews date: 23rd August 2019

Please be aware that Westward is committed to safeguarding Adults and children and as such practices Safer Recruitment techniques.  This means that if you are shortlisted, we will take up at least one reference before interview and you will need to show a full employment history with any gaps explained.

We actively encourage applications from all sections of the community. All applications are considered on the basis of their merits and suitability for the job.
