Job description

We are looking for someone with a passion for ensuring children and young people with disabilities have high quality play and leisure opportunities.

White Lodge have 13 different schemes across Spelthorne, Elmbridge, Woking and Runnymede catering for children and young people aged 4 to 25. The Play and Youth Club Coordinator is a critical role, responsible for the effective planning and delivery of the schemes.

The schemes run in the evenings, weekends and holidays from various venues with mostly bank staff. We are therefore looking for someone who can thrive in a role with many moving parts. Teamwork and the ability to work with others is essential. As well as being responsible for the smooth running of the schemes, you will also be responsible for booking and planning activities. Ensuring that members are part of that planning process is essential as is being a point of contact for parents and carers.

As a Play and Youth Club Coordinator, you must have:

  1. NVQ level 5 or equivalent in an appropriate qualification.
  2. At least 3 years’ experience of working with children
  3. A desire to remove barriers to inclusion for disabled children and young people.
  4. Excellent organisational and communication skills, and an ability to lead and motivate staff.

This post is to cover maternity leave from the beginning of March to the end of November 2022 and will be based at White Lodge in Chertsey. Some weekend and evening working will be required.
