We are seeking a hands on fundraiser with a creative attitude to build our fundraising from trusts and foundations, partnerships and individuals, and contribute to wider income-generation activities. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and broaden your fundraising skills in support of a growing national charity with international connections. The successful candidate will be motivated by our vision and mission and enjoy working within a small, supportive, friendly and committed team.

  • Write compelling, detailed and highly tailored fundraising applications for funders.

  • Contribute new ideas for fundraising and identify suitable initiatives.

  • Support the development and delivery of the charity’s voluntary income strategy, in close collaboration with the Head of Development and Communications, Chief Executive and other stakeholders such as the Development Advisory Board.

  • Support the delivery of action plans for specific areas of fundraising, including individual supporters, partnerships and trusts and foundations.

  • Create supportive relationships across the wider Wikimedia UK team in order to understand broader funding needs and opportunities.

  • To share in the general administration of the Development and Communications team.

  • Ensure delivery of timely, accurate and engaging funding monitoring and grant reports to ensure positive stewardship of funder relationships.

  • Maintain correct and timely input with CiviCRM across leads and achieved funds.

  • Ensure clear and effective records to support fundraising Audit requirements.

  • Support the Head of Development and Communications with reporting when required for Board meetings and Governance committees.

  • Work with the Communications and Governance Coordinator to ensure funding success and partnership outcomes are promoted across our social media presence, newsletters and blog.

  • Ensure clear and timely communications are maintained with funders to deliver positive stewardship of funder relationships.

Wikimedia UK is an equal opportunities employer. We hold diversity and inclusion at the heart of our organisation and in this recruitment process. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, and we particularly welcome applications from potential candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups, such as those with protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act.

The organisation has an office in Southwark, however all staff are currently working from home. We are developing our plans to return to the office in early 2021 if we consider it to be both safe and beneficial to do so, but with flexible working options in place.

If you would like to have an informal discussion about this role, please contact Natasha Iles, Head of Development and Communications, contact details on our job page. Full application details including the job description and person specification, and how to apply, is on our website.
