Common Ground Project Manager is an exciting new role within Woodcraft Folk organising our biggest and most exciting camp. It will be a 10 day camp at Kent County Showground for up to 3,000 people from across the UK and our international Partners IFM-SEI. This post is being recruited to lead camp preparations, support volunteers in their roles and the Common Ground board in making strategic decisions.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a passion for organising events. Excellent management and communication skills, accuracy and an eye for details are of vital importance. You will take an overview of camp, maintaining regular contact with senior volunteers, supporting them and flagging up any issues. You will compile and in some cases write the camp policy, to be reviewed and agreed by the camp board. You will also line manage a full time admin assistant for the camp. You will be expected to communicate with the wider Woodcraft Folk movement and our international partners (IFM-SEI) publicising the camp, responding to enquiries and solving problems. You will form part of the executive team on the camp itself.
Woodcraft Folk is a voluntary, democratic youth movement for all young people which does Education for Social Change. We are youth led and co-operative throughout our games, camps and national organisation. Children and young people have opportunities to enjoy crafts, international camps, the outdoors and more. We educate our young people about the world around them, including ideas about peace, sustainability and co-operation. We are locally focussed with an international outlook.
Hours: 35hrs per week, although job share welcome
