The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. We own and care for over 1,000 woodland sites across the United Kingdom and support the creation and management of woodland on land outside the Trust’s own estate.
We are recruiting an Assistant Campaigner to assist the delivery of Woodland Trust campaigns for woods and trees, with a focus on supporting the Mobilisation team. The purpose of the roles is to support activities to protect ancient woodland and mobilise people to help change policy for woods and trees. We provide opportunities for people to save woods and trees from threats , while also contributing to the development of policies and laws for their improved protection, restoration and creation.
The Assistant Campaigner for Woods under Threat will provide advice to the public and gather evidence of potential impacts of development on ancient woods and trees. Whilst the Assistant Campaigner for Mobilisation will help create campaign actions and supporter journeys. Both will undertake a range of administrative tasks to support our campaigns.
The successful Assistant Campaigners will have a real passion for the environment and especially trees. You will be organised, have excellent communication skills, be able to inspire action and able to accurately interpret, manage and use data and evidence.
Experience in either a similar role or a relevant qualification is desirable.
