Job description

Data Engineer
The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity.  We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland.
The Data Engineer will assist in the business as usual activity, and future development of the Woodland Trusts Single Data View (SDV) platform, whilst working with the current data team and wider organisation to implement a supporter-centric culture, driven by data.  The Data Engineer will work with the Data Mapping Analyst and other stakeholders to maintain the operational integrity and expand the functionality of the Trusts data platform.
With experience within Data analysis, you’ll have specialist knowledge of analytics, Big Data and Microsoft SQL. Working hard to build and maintain internal/external relationships you will be proactively thinking about how to influence change whilst understanding the importance of hitting key deadlines.
A strong time manager who takes ownership of any unexpected problems that may occur during projects relating to Single Data View and other Trust projects related to Data.
There’s no other organisation like the Woodland Trust. Whatever you do here you will be supporting our work to achieve our vision and ten year strategic plan. In return, we recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement.
