Permanent, Full-time
Job description

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so don't wait to apply

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and talented fundraiser who can help us ensure that our unique organisation continues to expand its reach to women who want to turn their lives around.

Working Chance is a trailblazing, award-winning charity helping women with convictions – many of whom have been in prison – to build a career they can thrive in.

It’s a great time to join us. Our team and our profile have been steadily growing over the last couple of years, and the topics we focus on are never far from the headlines: championing gender equality, reforming our criminal justice system, and determining how to create a fairer and more inclusive employment landscape, especially as the economy reopens after Brexit and Covid-19.

You’ll have the track record and confidence to thrive in this standalone role, but will benefit from support from your comms colleagues and input from our Chief Executive. You'll be able to think and plan strategically but equally be happy to get stuck into the nitty gritty of fundraising and to try new things.

Our finances and funding pipeline are healthy (with around three-quarters of our funding coming from trusts and foundations) so you’ll have a really strong base to work from, which will give you time to get to know our funding landscape and get stuck into managing our corporate partnerships and implementing our individual giving strategy, alongside our comms team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of what makes funders tick, and the ability to communicate our case for support through exceptionally high-quality written work and in meetings. You will have significant experience of successful fundraising for a charity, including researching prospects, meeting with funders, writing successful applications and funding reports.

We are deeply committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and we welcome applications from all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applicants with lived experience of the criminal justice system.

Application Instructions

To apply, please send a CV and a supporting statement of no more than two sides of A4 telling us exactly why you’re the right person for the job
