An exciting opportunity for a Health Promotion Officer has arisen at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF).
WCRF is the UK’s leading cancer prevention charity. We champion the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity. Every day in the UK around 1,100 people will hear the words, ‘you have cancer’. Over 400 of these people could have avoided this diagnosis, that’s 147,000 people every year. At WCRF we are passionate about reducing this number. To do so, we want more people to access our information to empower them to make informed lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk.
We are seeking a Health Promotion Officer to deliver a range of ongoing activities including workshops, eLearning courses and other training, and to develop information and resources for health professionals, increasing uptake of our resources among this audience and developing and increasing our membership network of health professionals. This role is also involved in helping develop and grow the Health Information team’s work in the cancer survivorship area.
The successful candidate would have a degree in nutrition (ideally with either ANutr or RNutr status), dietetics, public health or health promotion and experience of working in a health promotion/public health area developing and delivering training to both expert and lay audiences.
Experience of communicating sensitive health-related topics as well as copywriting, editing and proofreading content for an expert audience and writing for online channels is key, as is meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills, including the ability to work in a busy team and the ability to manage priorities and plan time effectively.
If you are interested in this role and feel you possess the necessary requirements, please submit a current CV and covering letter (maximum 2 pages) by the closing date. You must have current right to work in the UK.
Please note: Your cover letter should highlight how your skills and experience will benefit WCRF and equip you for the role.
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are only able to provide feedback to shortlisted candidates. If you do not hear from us within 14 days of the closing date, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
