£26,000 - £28,000 per year
Contract, 12 month contract, Full-time
Job description

World Jewish Relief is a renowned Jewish international humanitarian and development agency with a remarkable heritage and an equally bold ambition, addressing Jewish poverty and global suffering. Our mission is to assist those living in poverty, affected by disaster or who are displaced, to survive, earn a living, find employment and be better able to support themselves. We tackle Jewish poverty and reach beyond our community. We create opportunities for those out of work to become self-reliant; we bring dignity to the elderly and we respond to international disasters.

We are recruiting an experienced Employment Advisor to join our Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP). STEP supports refugees to develop the skills and identify the opportunities they need to secure sustainable employment.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide an exemplary level of support to Ukrainian STEP clients virtually. Support will be provided online with some face to face support across the UK. Therefore there will be some UK travel required. The STEP Employment Advisor will be based at World Jewish Relief in North London.

The post holder will be responsible for working directly with Ukrainian nationals in the UK, and will need to be fluent in Ukrainian or Russian. You will prepare clients for competitive employment and help them to achieve their chosen training and employment objectives. You will work to a variety of targets based on the progression outcomes of clients such as successful completion of training courses, voluntary and work placements and achieving and sustaining paid employment.

This role is hybrid working between home 3 days a week and our North London based office 2 days a week. We encourage flexible working/working from home when and where appropriate.

World Jewish Relief promotes equality, diversity and inclusion in our workplace. We invite and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. We encourage applications from candidates of different ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, race, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation and of faith or none that meet the criteria set out for this role.

You don’t need to be Jewish to work for us, but you must be committed to our faith-based values of Justice, Kindness, Repairing the World and Welcoming the Stranger. We are inspired by these values to work beyond our community, recognising the dignity and potential of all people.
