World Jewish Relief is the UK Jewish community’s leading international development and humanitarian agency. Our mission is to assist those living in poverty, affected by disaster or who are displaced, to survive, earn a living, find employment and be better able to support themselves. We tackle Jewish poverty and reach beyond our community. We create opportunities for those out of work to become self-reliant; we bring dignity to the elderly and we respond to international disasters. Our support to refugees in the UK, assisting them to find employment, has become a flagship initiative of ours.
We are seeking an exceptional professional to manage and further develop our Refugee Programmes in the UK delivered through local partner organisations. As Refugee Programme Manager you will be responsible for the day to day management of our employment initiatives, support to Afghan citizens and scale up of support specifically to refugee women. You will bring detailed operational, management, financial and performance oversight to our partnerships and programmes with an indirect management line to our Employment Advisors working with partner organisations. You will ensure an exactingly high and consistent standard of work seeking to maximise the quality of impact and outcomes but constantly looking to be creative, adaptive and opportunistic to meet refugee integration needs and new funding initiatives. Detailed monitoring and evaluation of our work is critical to ensure our learning is evidence based upon which future activities will be developed.
Familiar with the challenges that refugees face in their integration into the UK, you will have demonstrable programme and resource management experience, have strong partnership building capabilities and a desire to help World Jewish Relief deliver such initiatives to the highest of standards. Experience of working with institutional or statutory funders would be an advantage. You will be an advocate for refugee employment support and have exemplary communication skills.
World Jewish Relief promotes equality, diversity and inclusion in our workplace. We invite and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. We encourage applications from candidates of different ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, race, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation and of faith or none that meet the criteria set out for this role.
You don’t need to be Jewish to work for us, but you must be committed to our faith based values of Justice, Kindness, Repairing the World and Welcoming the Stranger. We are inspired by these values to work beyond our community, recognising the dignity and potential of all people.
