UK Programmes Officer
World Jewish Relief is the leading international development and humanitarian agency for the UK Jewish community. Our mission is to assist those living in poverty, affected by disaster or who are displaced, to survive, earn a living, find employment and be better able to support themselves. We tackle Jewish poverty and reach beyond our community. We create opportunities for those out of work to become self-reliant; we bring dignity to the elderly and we respond to international disasters. Our support to refugees in the UK, assisting them to find employment, has become a flagship initiative of ours.
As the UK Programmes Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the Director of Programmes UK in all programme management, administrative and financial tasks. The UK Programmes Team currently manages two large programmes: Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) and the Refugee Employment Network (REN) as well as a Women’s Programme which is currently in the design phase. You will spend most of your time on STEP (roughly 80%) and the rest supporting the team with REN.
You will play a key role in supporting projects by ensuring their compliance with grant agreements and with regular reporting. Using advanced excel skills, you will analyse results, identify trends and learnings, using data to drive changes and improve the quality of programmes. As part of this role, you will perform general financial tasks for the UK programmes team, including tracking income and expenditure for all partners.
To be considered for this post you will have previous experience working in a similar role, supporting the administrative and financial aspects of a programme and or project. You will be capable of producing a high level of financial reporting and have great understanding of Microsoft Excel. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join a small, ambitious team that is helping to support refugees find work in the UK.
World Jewish Relief promotes equality, diversity and inclusion in our workplace. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. We encourage applications from candidates of different ethnicities, race, socio-economic backgrounds, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation and of faith or none that meet the criteria set out in this role.
