Job description

World Literacy Foundation UK is looking for a highly-skilled and motivated part time fundraising professional. You will have experience and a proven track record in managing our corporate relationships as a key focus.

You will also need to have experience in running charity events, grant writing, trust/foundation applications and general community & school charity fundraising.

You will be our UK person and join a global fundraising team of people who are working in Africa, South America, United States and Australia – helping the 770 people on the globe who can’t read and write a single word and the 2 billion people who struggle to read a sentence.

We are an international NGO, comprised of 6 charitable organisations across the world striving to eradicate illiteracy.

What we do

Established in 2012, we have built a number of key innovative projects to improve literacy rates amongst high disadavantgted children.  

Also, as a peak international organisation, we facilitate a bi-annual global conference at Oxford University to foster collaboration and improved dialog in the literacy sector. 

We reach 500 million people from 52 countries each year with education and awareness about the importance of literacy

Our vision is a world in which every child has the opportunity to read and write and reach their full potential.

About the role

We are at a crucial time in its development, and we have exciting plans to build   We are seeking a highly-skilled Fundraising professional with at least 5 years experience who has significant fundraising skills and networks, including proven track record of writing successful proposals, negotiating, winning and delivering partnerships,  funds from, charitable trusts and foundations, companies, individuals, and major donors. Experience of delivering successful fundraising campaigns like the Big Give would be an asset.
