Job description

This isn’t your standard Carer job, this is a truly unique opportunity for someone to be the Carer and Personal Assistant for a high profiled disabled ex-rugby player Matt Hampson, employed directly by Matt, and based in his home in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside.

Matt has a high-level spinal cord injury resulting in being paralysed from the neck down and is on a ventilator 24/7, so the successful candidate will play a key role in enabling him to do what he does best, and that’s give back to others, as Founder of his successful charity the Matt Hampson Foundation. Plus, he doesn’t take life too seriously and lives life to the full, with plenty of travel, good food and is great company too.

Care Assistant Responsibilities:

The role would involve assisting Matt with all aspects of his daily care, including personal care, travel and work commitments. He may have a spinal cord injury, but still leads a very active lifestyle, so requires a strong and reliable team around him.

The environment that you would work in is not clinical, it’s a home. Matt would like to keep it that way. Family is very important to him so the ideal candidate would have similar outlooks on life.

Care Assistant Requirements:

The ideal candidate would thrive on new challenges as well as relish the chance to be involved within Matt’s outstanding team. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a strong team player with good initiative, who’s reliable and hardworking, with impeccable standards of care, and great company.

Previous care experience is essential, and you would be required to hold a full UK driving licence.
If you feel you are outgoing, fun-loving and believe you could enhance Matt’s life, we would love to hear from you!
