Fixed term contract to May 2023

Location: Woking, Surrey GU21 4LL/Hybrid Working

At the WWF we have a vision that our planet can sustainably produce the food needed to feed a growing global population without harming nature. To achieve this it is vital that the food industry faces sustainability challenges and takes action. We are in the last year of the current phase of our ground-breaking global partnership with Sodexo that is focused on increasing the consumption of healthier, more sustainable diets. We have a vacancy for a Food Service Sustainable Diets Adviser to join the team and help protect our planet.

As Food Service Sustainable Diets Adviser, we want you to lead the sustainable eating workstream for the partnership and develop as well as deliver strategy and activity in this area. You will help to coordinate our engagement in the development and implementation of Sodexo’s Sustainable Eating Strategy, providing technical expertise on sustainable diets and other aspects of sustainable eating. This will involve building relationships with key teams within Sodexo and developing a good understanding of business operations and challenges. You will engage with chefs across the organisation to drive greater business action on sustainable food too. You will also commission research and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the programme is underpinned by good science as well as case studies that demonstrate the importance and benefits of food sustainability across the food service sector. Important will be the ability to work with global leads to share best practice and ensure consistent delivery and alignment across the full breadth of the partnership. You will also collaborate within WWF UK on our Sustainable Diets work and support the thinking of the expansion of our work in Food Service.

An effective project manager, you must have a proven ability:

  • To understand, absorb and synthesise complex information as well as translate it into good advice and communications.
  • You will possess strong advocacy skills and enjoy engaging with a range of audiences.
  • You must also have excellent knowledge and understanding of sustainable and healthy diets and ideally experience of working with major food service companies.
  • Results orientated, you will be comfortable working flexibly and independently.
  • Always able to see the bigger picture and overall strategic aims you will be the type of person who is happy taking personal ownership to see things through to delivery.

If you have the expertise to encourage a shift in consumption towards a diet that is lower in environmental impact and consistent with good health we would like to hear from you.

Please visit our website via the link, complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up-to-date CV with the Supporting Statement highlighting what makes you a good fit for us. Application closing date: 28/07/2022

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose.  We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.
